The expense incurred on this production goes beyond anything in vaudeville. The setting represents a French night resort or Cabaret. The lower floor is set with small tables. There is a small balcony with one table, opposite which, in a larger balcony is an orchestra of five, attired in typical Parisian fashion. The first flash of the setting puts the act in strong with the audience. All the entrances are made in the rear from a large staircase.
Four good looking couples assist in some f the numbers, one pair never leaving the little table on the balcony. Mr. Rock and Miss Fulton begin the act with a neat song and dance, the chorus singing the song with they make a change for the next number, a bachelor song and dance by Rock. Fulton follows with her own pretty number with four boys behind her wearing high hats as Englishmen do. Afterwards, Rock and Fulton do a dope bit with excellent talk and dancing. They finish with a pantomime and dance in pierrot costume. The Moulin Rouge streamer effect is used, making for a corking finish.
The production was received very kindly at the finish. At times the interest lagged a bit, but the final scene helped in these moments.
The duo have a wonderful foundation for a great big act. No doubt the numbers will be improved to make the turn a big hit throughout.
