The duo most likely entered vaudeville as a straight singing act; they have unusually good singing voices which show training.
Songs and Imitations - They open with a light number, going immediately into impressions. The man does Ralph Herz (possibly Hertz), Raymond Hitchcock and the “Motto” song from “The Arcadians.” The female also does an “Arcadian” number, showing off her voice. As a finish, the woman comes forward as a Della Fox boy and the man as an English comic’s dame.
They introduce each other (with a flourish of the hand); this must be dropped immediately as it seems amateurish. The man’s “Hertz” (possibly Herz) and “Hitchcock” are good as far as impressions go. If the audience will continue to laugh at the lyrics of “Just a Few Hours” there can be nothing said against it. The “Motto” song is a bully, winning on its own. The woman’s second number should be replaced with something lighter, with fewer frills. The act needs more finish before it will be acceptable for the big time.
