The Frescott’s

“The Master Minds of Mental Mysticism” – man and woman; man works in the audience; special drop of green plush; answers questions, tells names, etc. 16 min. full stage; went fair. P.S. – The people don’t seem to like the show – I’ve heard quite a number of unfavorable comments, which is unusual, and mostly from our two-a-week patrons.

Houdini

27 min. A holiday audience that packed the house found as much to interest them as ever in this act. He gets everything possible out of his tricks and held the entire house seated throughout his act. He was greeted with tremendous applause at the finish of the water-cell escape trick.

Leipzig

19 min. Has a very clever routine of sleight-of-hand tricks with coins and cards. He is a good showman and gets a lot out of his material, using men from the audience to handle his tricks on the stage. Act brought excellent results.

The Great Brindamour

Billed the original hand cuff king. Act consists of handcuff work and tricks with ropes etc. woman and man with co. man working audiennce [sic]. The act is not 1, 2, 3 with the act he was doing a few years ago. Full stage, 20 min. Went well.

Rush Ling Toy

With two men and a woman as assistants, presenting a fast illusion specialty that will create some talk. The novelty about this fellow is the quickness in which he presents his illusions, which are all good and cleverly executed. While he did not receive any great amount of applause for any one stunt, he was given a rousing hand on his finish, with several curtain calls. Ten minutes, full stage, own set.

The Keatons

20 min. F.S. Although “Buster” Keaton is pretty nearly a full grown man, nevertheless he keeps up the kid illusion very well, and the new material introduced in a measure takes the place of that of the former act when Joe could more easily throw the kid across the stage. It is really a very amusing act. Get plenty of laughter and applause and closed strong.

Adelaide Herrmann

Presenting a series illusions. While the audience does not enthuse to any great extent, presume they appreciate this womans work. The illusions are well done and she makes a very good appearance. The act is rather spectacular and could make good in house where she has not been seen. The small houses could use her as a headliner and get by. Twenty-two minutes, full stage.

Lolo, The Mystic

She is in a class by herself and is away and far superior to any one ever engaged in her line of entertainment. F.S.

Eva Fay

The High Priestess of Mysticism. This is Mrs. Fay’s second appearance here and she bids fair to again attract big houses. Her act is entirely new this season and she does her entire act at one time. While her lecturer is making his announcement the boy distributes the pads in the audience. Then the curtain rises on a beautiful Egyptian temple setting with incense burning, etc. Mrs. Fay makes her entrance down a flight of steps, attired in a gorgeous gold creation, a la Cleopatra. She begins at once to answer the questions which have been written but a few moments before. We had a crowd at the matinee that came to scoff and remained to praise and the audience left the house more mystified than ever. She has Herbert Brooks, the magician, doing her announcing this season. Own set in 3. Open in 1, 6 min. Time 30 min.

J. Warren Keane

This well known sleight-of-hand artist is presenting the best act he had ever shown here. He is assisted very capably by a very pretty young woman who interpolates musical numbers on grand piano very effectively. His plush backing is in good taste and gives the act in general a very classy appearance. The various tricks executed by Keane are decidedly well performed, each of them winning applause. The act scored throughout and finished strong. Special set in 2, 14 minutes.
