Mr. Wynne Winslow

A soprano singer who has a fairly good voice, dresses well, is shapely and rather pretty. With these points in her favor it is difficult to reason why she does not go bigger than she does in this house, unless it is that she lacks personal magnetism and has a repertoire of song members that is not up to the standard. 9 minutes in 1.

McMahon’s Watermelon Girls

This is the second week for this splendid act and it is going big. Instead of the Mississippi river scene (illuminated steamboat) employed last week, a drop showing a passenger train (illuminated) is used. It is a pretty picture and gets a big hand. The act is A1 and a winner in every respect. 12 minutes full stage.

Frederic Bond and Co.

Presenting the sketch “My Awful Dad.” From a literary and original standpoint this is one of the very best playlets [sic] that has ever been put upon the stage of this house. Two men and two women in the cast. 25 minutes full stage.

Mary Norman

Caricaturist of society women. While she was never a “topnotcher” [sic] in the beauty line, she has retrograded physically since her last appearance in this house, in consequence of which she is not going with vim that she did on her former visit. However she is going fairly well. 15 minutes in 3.

George B. Snyder and Harry Buckley

Musical comedians. The former makes-up as a German and the latter straight. Their comedy is splendid and their music fair. They are laugh-producers of the stellar brand. 19 minutes full stage and 6 minutes in 1.

McMahon’s Water-melon Girls

Two men and seven girls. This is a new act, it opens with stage in two, girls in Indian costume, singing chorus, and McMahon and Nevins, dressed in handsome black suits, following with song and dance, assisted by the girls, then stage opens in full, girls in water-melon suits, standing on each side of stage, a large drop curtain in rear representing a steamboat all lighted, coming up to dock. On the dock is an immense water-melon filled with electric lights, which opens and shows McMahon and Nevins, in black face, reclining inside. They come out sing and dance, assisted by the chorus. It is one of the prettiest and best acts, in that line, ever seen on our stage. It is a great hit, they are encored four and five times, after each song and dance. They made such a hit that we keep them on another week, adding one new song and dance and some new scenery which is very effective. Time 13 minutes.

Culver’s Cycle Sensation

This is the second week for it. It is a poor imitation of the Tom Eyck’s wheel; the one that Lottie Brandon performed on. It ought to be turned down for it is an imposition on theatre-goers.

Russell Brothers

They are assisted by a man and a woman in the presentation of their new sketch entitled “A Romance of New Jersey.” Their work does not differ material from what they have heretofore done. They catch the major portion of the audience and catch it hard. 29 minutes full stage and 5 minutes in 1.

The Columbian Trio

Composed of two young girls and a man. Both of the girls are clever but the smallest one of the duo is a marvel. Her imitation of a wax doll, singing, dancing and piano playing can not be praised too highly. All in all an excellent act. 15 minutes in 3 and 5 minutes in 1.

Culver’s Bicycle Loop

It consists of two wheels 18 feet in diameter inside of which two men ride bicycles. It is a great novelty and would cause a bigger hit than it does were it not for the fact that something of the same order has been offered here before. 8 minutes full stage.
