“‘The Bandit’ is an an artist first, last, and always and a master of detail is evident to those who find the study of stagecraft interesting and who are able to find a meaning in some little deft touch that is hidden to the casual observer who fails to look beneath the surface.”
"A high strung, eager horse, eager to be off and the moment the master's left hand is in the stirrup, his hand on the pommel of the saddle, away goes the animal before the outlaw can get his right foot from the ground; hence it drags a second and catches the dust on the underside. This is only one bit of detail in Mr Hawley's production. When you see it, look around and see what you can find beneath the surface.
