“While ‘The Bandit’ is on the atmosphere is extremely melodramatic. The room in the adobe is picturesque and so are the actors. They exaggerate, of course, but perhaps this liberality is pardonable.”
"The captive girl and the bandit chief, a Mexican armed to the teeth and smoking the inevitable cigarette, furnish the excitement. Their dialogue teems with it. There is gun play after gun play and in the end the hair-raising situation resolves itself into a tragic meeting between father and daughter."
