The Dancer and the Dude. Man and woman in an act that is distinctively English. The man is a rather tiresome comedian, the toe dancing of the woman being the real feature of the act. Pleased but mildly. Open in 1, 3 min, own drop; then to full stage with scene reversed, 9 min; close in 1, 8 min.
Club maniacs. Four men in a fast club juggling act. Not in the class with the Mowatts or even the Juggling Bannons, but a most acceptable offering nevertheless and can open a big show or close a small one in good shape. The men look well, attired in white sweaters, trimmed with blue, and dark trousers. They have several new stunts that I have never seen before and act is one that should satisfy all managers. Garden in 4. Time 8 min.
A great animal act. Eight horses in a thirty-five foot ring, one of the horses doing a dancing step to music which made a big hit, rest of act equally good with different high school acting that they are put through. Went big. 20 min. full stage.
The Negro and the Chinaman. Two colored men in a talking and singing act, one made up as a Chinamen. Good material and held this spot well. 16 min. in one.
In Will Cressy’s sketch “One Christmas Eve” a comedy sketch with some very funny situations, got them from the start and went very good all the way through. 21 min. full stage.
A very pretty singing act, both having fine voices and a good selection of songs. Went very good. 19 min. in one.
In remarkable tests of endurance and hand to hand balancing. A great act of its kind, one of the best we have had. Open in one, own plush drop, close in three with spring board jump which took the house by storm.
German comedian, songs and story. Good line of stuff, took very well. 17 min. in one.
In their refined singing act, very neat act making two changes of costume. Went very good. 13 min. in one and a half.
This thoroughly established team were one long scream. The audience applauded until it seemed to be thoroughly tired out yet would not let them go. Very few acts ever scored here as heavily as they did to-day. 21 minutes, street in 1.
