4 DeWolfs

Juvenile character change artists. 20 minutes in one. Strong act went big.

Bissett & Shady

Man and woman, singing and dancing. 12 minutes in one. Just went fair, ordinary act.

Tuscano Bros.

9 min F.S. Carry their own drop, representing a Roman Arena. The boys make a good appearance in costumes of Roman athletes. The battle-axes are very showy and they juggle with them in a manner worthy of the Mowatts with the Indian Clubs. Each one of their variations of tricks received a good hand. The finishing feat when one of the boys throws battle-axes clean across the stage and the other catching them, got a big hand. An excellent opener.

Kinetograph

“Miscalculation.” The best comedy film we have played since “The Rarebit Fiend.”

Rose Pitonof

10 min. F.S. This little girl has justified everything that has been said about her. She is especially valuable from an advertising standpoint as her work lends itself to publicity and her youth prepossesses everybody in her favor. The tank which was used for the first time is entirely free and clear above the floor of the stage, with a suitable setting, and every one of Miss Pitonof’s movements in the water can be plainly seen through the heavy plate glass windows. Every one of her feats got a good hand and at the finish she was called to respond to strong applause. As a headline feature she has been found entirely satisfactory and will be much talked about even by people who are not particularly interested in swimming. The newspapers are particularly kind to her and help us to make her popular.

Rayno’s Dogs

9 min. F.S. Well known act on the circuit. A great dog act, and no mistake. Roars of laughter and a big finish.

Ethel Green

24 min. in one. First appearance here. Miss Green makes a very pretty picture in four changes of costume and has a pleasing personality. Her selections were well chosen and sufficiently varied. Her kid song got good applause. Closed very strong.

Two Vivians

17 min. F.S. Appear in evening dress and have a very finished and skilful act. Miss Vivian’s work gets particularly good applause, especially her shooting from the first balcony and the unique feat of playing mechanical piano with the rifle and accompanying voice got the crowd very strong. Closed big.

Jarrow

22 min. in one. This man has a very individual manner. Succeeds in holding the attention of the audience with laughter and applause throughout his entire act. His lemon trick and tobacco trick are very puzzling, and his running fire of banter is original and clever. Closed very well indeed.

Duff & Walsh

11 min. in one. Two clever dancers who do not do much in the vocal line, but whose dancing, both single and double, on the mat, is exceptional. All right for an early spot on the bill. Closed well.
