In “Discovered.” This is an intensely dramatic sketch by Richard Warner and exceptionally well presented by Mr. Durkin a dual role and two assistants. Held the audience breathless and got a big laugh on the unexpected comedy finish, relieving a seemingly tragic moment. Fcy in 3. Time 21 min.
A very pretty sight act that was well received and created some favorable comment. Would do nicely on almost any bill and a great headline feature for the small time. Own set in 3. Time 15 min.
“The Try-Out Act.” Another of these property men affairs with which vaudevilles has been surfeited the past few years. Watched the act intently today but don’t know yet what it is all about, don’t think the audience did either. There were a few laughs but I doubt if the act ever lands a knockout blow anywhere. Might go on the small time. Divided stage in 3. Time 20 min. close in 1, 4 min.
“The Little German.” Just a little different from the rank and file of German comedians. Has a fairly good line of talk and went well today. O.K. for this spot in the larger “small-time.” Street in 1. Time 13 min.
Dancing on the largest xylophone in the world. The boys are nice looking, execrable singers, but two exceptionally fine hard shoe dancers. Cannot just determine why the xylophone is featured as the work on the mat is good enough to make the act acceptable with the half minutes on the xylophone eliminated. With the excess discarded for fire wood act would make an acceptable offering in 1. Fcy in 2.
Russian singers and dancers, all making a very good appearance, the singing and dancing both scoring strongly. Had no trouble in holding the house and the finish was strong. Special set in 5, 14 minutes.
Two men in a comedy talking musical act. Their work went very well and they finished very strong. 19 minutes, street in 1.
Two woman, one man, in “The Sleep Walker.” Comedy sketch a little out of the ordinary in theme and one that won a number of laughs. Fared quite well all the way through and finished fairly strong. 16 minutes, C.D.F.
Young man and woman in a singing and dancing act, the latter predominating. Make a nice appearance and got along very well. Punctuations of applause and moderately strong finish. 9 minutes, olio in 1.
Nice looking girl presents an entertaining wire act. Held attention all the way through. Scored a moderately strong finish. 7 minutes, garden in 4.
