Leroy & Woodford

In one, 14 minutes. This is simply a rapid fire monologue, Mr. Leroy doing most all of the work. Miss Woodford have very little to do which I think is a good thing for the act. Mr. Leroy went very well considering the hard place he had on the bill, following Bloom & Cooper.

Spook Minstrels

20 minutes in one. This act shows moving pictures of a minstrel first part and carry quintette, a leader and a man to operate picture machine. The music is timed with picture. The people work back of the moving picture drop. They do all the talking for the end man and the interlocutor, in fact give an entire part, lasting 20 minutes. This was a big hit with us and the quintette were compelled to take encore in front of their drop at each performance. This act is a novelty and one which I think draws some money.

Tenbrooke, Lambert Trio

In this act one person again bears the burden and that is the man who plays the violin and performs on the piano, and also plays the part of the Frenchman. He is a decided artistic as well as a clever comedian. The act really should be on earlier than I have it but I feel that I get the best result from the show as a whole this way. 25 min, open in full stage, close with 3 min. in one, 2 shows.

Howard & North

These men were handicapped by the non-arrival of their special drop and were obliged to cut some of the act, (in the early part) but even with this disadvantage they made a distinct hit. They have got a turn that is far better than SMITH & CAMPBELLS was in its best days. This afternoon they did, 17 minutes, probably their act will run 20 min in one, 2 shows.

John Birch

In Burlesque Melodrama, “The Mosquito’s Revenge.’ There is no doubt of the fact, that this man has a novelty and a funny one. His act went with screams almost from the start and certainly to the finish. He is entitled to great credit for getting out of the beaten path. 13 min in one, 2 shows.

Grand Opera Trio

The soprano of this team (Miss Decker) in unquestionably the best vocalist in vaudeville and were the men one-half as good it would be an act that would make the audience stand on their heads. As it is it is a big hit, and probably the best singing act in the business although the greater amount of credit belongs to the woman. 14 min in 2, 2 shows.

Rae & Brosche

In exactly the same act they have always given us although I supposed they were giving a new act this year. There is no reason in the world why these people should be getting the salary they do and only doing two shows. With this present act at least and its constant repetition it certainly belongs in the three a day class, if they are to get the present salary. 20 min, open and close in one, 2 shows.

Globe Comedy 4 and Wilson

Colored people, four man and one woman. This act was something of a disappointment although from the three a day standpoint, as acts run now, might be called fairly good, hardly worth the salary it gets and still I don’t see how five people can travel around for anything less, although that is not our funeral. 19 min in 2, can work in one, 3 shows.

Inman & Hall

Formerly Inman & Startz, in practically the same act the old team gave. While it got a great many laughs (there was a very easy audience this being a school holiday week here) they went off with scarcely any applause. Consider the act only fair. 16 min, full stage, 3 shows.

Lloyd’s Dogs

2 shows, 7 min, full stage. This is a small troupe of Siberian wolf hounds, exhibited by a man and woman. They do nothing except high jumping, and the animals managed to negotiate wonderful heights. As a freak act, it can be considered all right, although the small amount of time they give is somewhat against it.
