Albert Chevalier

2 shows, 25 min in 1. This man got a fair amount applause when he came on, proving that our advertising had not been wasted, and all his selections were enthusiastically applauded. It could hardly be otherwise, since his unquestionably the most finished artist who has ever appeared in this house. At the finish he could have sung another selection had he been so minded but it was probably better that he did not. I think he will work up in great shape.

Techow’s Cats

2 shows, 15 min, full stage. A most interesting and amusing interlude, no only for women and children, but for the sterner sex as well. Laughter and applause every minute it was on stage. It is easily the best, if not the only animal act of the kind in the business. Will probably arrange to have them return in May.

Burke & Dempsey

Two men, one straight and the other ‘silly boy.’ Burke played the circuit with Howard some ten years ago. Their material being old is told in a different manner and went fairly well considering their hard place. At two hundred the act is about fifty overpaid. Drop in 1, 2 shows, 15 minutes.

Dick Lynch

Formerly Lynch & Jewell. This man is all right from the 3-a-day standpoint, but the pace down here is a little too warm for him. Will rearrange the show in order to give him better chance. He uses the burlesque illustrated songs, which failed to amuse this afternoon. Tells some new stories, and being a little nervous twisted some of the stories. He received some applause on his dancing, which is very good. 3 shows, 17 minutes, drop one.

Theo. Morse Trio

Three young men ‘singers of their own songs.’ They are fairly good singers, but did not make the impression as on their previous engagement, probably due to the cold audience. Will change the bill around and work this act in one. 2 shows, 15 min, full stage.

Thearle’s Original Nashville Students

This act consists of four colored men and four colored women who appear in plantation pastime. As this is their first appearance in public it would be rather unfair to judge them. There are several good voices and there is no doubt but that it will evolute [sic] into an exceedingly good act. 20 mins, FS.

Peter F. Daily

And his 8 Lulu Girls in a sketch entitled, ‘THE POLICE INSPECTOR.’ There is nothing to this act of any description that I can see. The songs are poor, and about the worst I’ve ever heard. He really hasn’t one good song in the whole lot. The girls are nicely dressed, and at the finish of the act do 3 songs with some dances. I believe that if Mr. Daily would get some new songs his act would go twice as well. There’s no doubt but what he draws some money, and the act could be made a good one. I’m going to make some suggestions to him before the week is out. Time 25 minutes full stage.

Green & Weener

In their specialty called, ‘BABES OF THE JUNGLE.’ This act opens up in one with singing and dancing. They then go to full stage and makeup as Zulus. The scenery if very fine, and the act is quite a novelty, and away from all others. Consists entirely of singing and dancing. Time 15 minutes.

Julian Eltinge

2 shows, 11 min, opens in 1, closes in 3. Next to the preceding team, this young chap got the greatest amount of advance applause. There is no doubt whatever in my mind that he would make good in any vaudeville house in the country, as he is a decidedly talented and graceful performer, and makes a handsome girl. Is responsible for a goodly portion of our business.

Tom O’Brien and Miss Lawrence

2 shows, 24 min, full stage. First time in two years, presenting the comedy sketch, ‘Ticks and Clicks,’ which they played on the occasion of their last engagement here. It has been brightened up considerably and Miss Lawrence is an improvement on Clara Havel who was growing too stout for good work. Scored one of the laughing hits of the show. In fact, a burlesque telephone scene was a perfect scream, and his tumbling at the finish won them three recalls.
