Four Huntings

Three men, one woman, full stage, 16 minutes. Each one received individuals applause on their entrance. Presenting the sketch, ‘A Night in the Fool House,’ with singing and dancing specialties. One continual laugh.

The Pryors

Man and woman in a refined musical number. Full stage, 3 shows, 11 minutes. The woman is rather attractive and a pretty fair dancer. The act consists of banjo, mandolin and harmonica solos, with a few imitations and some dancing. It is very acceptable for an early place.

Bruno & Russell

Man and woman, sketch ‘Tricks of the Trade.’ Talking, signing and dancing act. Cut out: ‘Run like hellovitch,’ ‘she slept alone in the garret – that was sad.’ These people were travelling in stiff company, and had hard work to hold their end up. Good act, but hardly good enough for this place. 18 mins, CDF, 2-1/2. Close in one.

Russell & Tillyne

Man and woman, grotesque dancers and eccentric comedy, which does not amount to much. One or two good laughs in the whole act. Not bad for the three show section, for the dancing is good. 14 mins, gar in 3, Close in one.

Lewis McCord & Co.

Two men and women. Full stage, 2 shows, 28 minutes. In the well known comedy ‘Her Last Rehearsal.’ The act is well known over the circuit. The man who plays the Romeo character, Francis Fraunholz, is rather amateurish. The material and business remains the same. It went big and fully as well as before.

Adelaide Herrman & Co.

Magic and illusion. Full stage, 2 shows, 28 minutes. Received some applause for her work, but not as much as I anticipated. The act is nicely presented and makes a beautiful picture, but she certainly does bungling work and is receiving entirely too much money.

Wm. H. Windom

Blackface, in his well known character of the ‘nurse girl.’ Drop in 1, 2 shows, 17 minutes. He has a lot of good material and managed to keep them laughing during his entire act. He is all right to head the two-show class.

Nat Gill

Ventriloquist. Full stage, closes in one, 3 shows, 16 minutes. The ventriloquial [sic] part of his act is not much; too much sameness. Uses several mechanical figures which is his strong-hold. The act is only fair, in fact, the weakest number on the bill. Will cut him down to 12 minutes, and have him open the show.

Bert Coote & Co.

One of the most original and best and best played comedy dramatic sketches we have had in a long time. With the show running late (he didn’t get on till nearly 4:30) he made an unqualified hit. Very, very, strong act. 23 min in 3, 2 shows.

Mrs. Annie Yeamans and Mr. Louis Wesley

This act is thoroughly all right to play once. Mrs. Yeamans got a big reception on her entrance but doesn’t do anything in the way of playing that amounts to anything and Wesley carries the burden of the act upon shoulders. He is a man that we want to keep in mind for I think he is going to de one of the successful single entertainers in one another season. He has a great personality and gets away with his stuff in great style. I think the act (as it is) draws money, but should be placed by 8:30. 18 min in 1, 2 shows.
