Fred Niblo

The American humorist. Has a big lot of new material. Had them with him on the start-off and carried them through his act. Closed very strong. Cut out: ‘Dam sight.’ ‘Don’t take a married woman, take a single one; you will keep out of trouble.’ And when the audience laughs – ‘Naughty audience, I don’t mean what you mean.’ Also make no reference to Adam and Eve. 17 min. in one, 2 shows.

Mullen & Corelli

2 men. Acrobatic comedy. First time here. One works straight while the other is eccentric. First act on the bill which made the audience sit up and take notice. All their acrobatic work is new and good and was greatly appreciated.  Their comedy is excellent. Act is quick and full of life. They close the act tumbling through a trick-piano which they carry, making strong finish. 11 min, full stage.

Harry Pilcer

Character vocalist. Young man. Pleasing personality with a very peculiar voice although acceptable. Gives an imitation of Geo. M. Cohan which is fairly good and with his dancing, which is excellent, makes the act alright for an early place on the bill. 10 min in one, 3 shows.

Rose Wentworth Trio

Well known equestrian act late with the Barnum and Bailey show. The act was not as good as it was last year. The man that does the bare back riding with Miss Wentworth is not the young man they had with them last season. The man that tried to ride with her today was very bad. He made two very bad falls showing conclusively that he was not an expert. I should judge that he receives about half the money they paid last season. A good act. Wood in 5. 8 minutes.

Aerial Smiths

Man and woman in swinging ring and trapeze act well known on the circuit. They have opened shows in the continuous houses, but they work so rapidly and without unnecessary posing that I have placed them in this spot on the bill and they more than make good. They have closed the show in this house and made a hit. Good act. Wood in 3. 8 minutes.

Borani & Nevaro

Man and woman in a novelty contortion and acrobatic act. Miss Nevaro used to be the young lady with the Three Nevaros and is a contortionist and acrobat of unusual ability. This team presents an interesting and novel act which includes some new and difficult stunts in this line of work. Their work this afternoon was liberally applauded. A good act. CDF in 3, close in one. 11 minutes.

Richard Golden & Co.

27 minutes, full stage, interior, in ‘Old Jed Prouty in Boston.’ This is a very good sketch and I think the name Golden will draw some money. There is one very weak spot in Mr. Golden’s company which if changed would improve it considerable, but the act as it is will more than make good.

The Holdworths

Singing, dancing and banjo playing. 3 shows. Olio – time of act 15 minutes. This is act is really a surprise to us. Heretofore they have just been able to get away in the three a day section. They have a fairly good place this week and they are going very big, much better than many two a day we have played.

Bloom & Cooper

20 minutes in ‘A Picture from Life.’ This act did very well for us. I consider Mr. Bloom on of the best tramps in the business. This is their third appearance here. While they went very big, I feel sure we would not care to play them again with the same act.

Bros. Freydo

Gymnasts and equilibrists. This act was a great disappointment to us. We played them two years ago and they went very strong with us. This time they did not do over 5 or 6 minutes at each show and missed most every trick they attempted. I found out by Wednesday that one of the brothers had been vaccinated some weeks ago and that it had affected his arm. I advised him to lay off until the arm got all right but I think he likes the money too well.
