Kennedy & Rooney

In the comedy ‘The Happy Medium.’ No plot to the comedy, full of good bright lines, funny situations, singing and their strong hold ‘dancing.’ Big laughs throughout the act. Twenty-one minutes, full stage, can close in one, two shows.

Martin & Ridgway

Man and woman, eccentric comedy. Very much on the ‘burlesque’ order. Have a cut  a lot of their objectionable material. Not a bad act, received some big laughs in spots. Alright for an opener. Fourteen minutes in one, three shows.

Elmer Tenley

2 shows, 15 min in 1. Well-known monologue comedian; continuously laughed at all, through. Obliged to make several cuts from his material, but he is without doubt one of the brightest entertainers we play. Could not have filled this spot better if he had been made up for it.

Chas. Barry and Hilda Halvers

2 shows, 18 min in 3. In eccentric comedytalking, singing and dancing specialties. Barry made up as a tramp and Miss Halvers was becomingly costumed. Act was laughed at all through, Barry’s impersonation of Bert Stone in the scarecrow song from ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is an exceptionally clever piece of work and was strongly applauded.

Henry Hedrix and Ada Prescott

3 shows, 11 min in 1. Quite a neatly dressed couple in son [sic] and dance. Their vocalism does not amount to much, but the dancing of Hendrix more than makes up for this. Secured good applause for him. Excellent act for the 3-a-day division.

Martin & Ridgeway

Man and woman, in nonsense act, composed chiefly of burlesque acting, introducing singing and a little eccentric dancing. A fair act from a three-a-day standpoint. Aroused some laughter and a small hand at the finish. 11 min in 1.

John W. World and Mindell Kingston

Eccentric and character singing and dancing. The character work of the world went very strong, the singing of Miss Kingston is excellent. The act contains some bright lines and scored many laughs. They open and close in one, making the act valuable. Twenty-six minutes, two shows.

Orth and Fern

Two young men in their musical comedy ‘Sign That Book.’ Very good act both from the instructive and comedy stand point. Orth is a very clever pianist and made a big hit, while Fern is a good comedian. The act is greatly improved and scored big. Fifteen minutes full stage, close in about three minutes, with some excellent parodies, giving the act a finish.

The Baileys

Colored singers and dancers. The woman in this act just about gets out. Bailey is alright, but he should get another woman. The act is not as strong as before, the shadow-dance being a ‘passes.’ They get some little applause on the finish. Twelve minutes in one, three shows.

Violet Staley

Singing comedienne. This woman’s voice will not cause any sensation, her appearance will carry her. She is rather attractive and wears some elegant costumes. At the salary she is alright for an early place. Twelve minutes in one, three shows.
