Bloom & Cooper

In their comedy: ‘A Picture from Life.’ During this man’s act, the audience sat cold and lifeless and once in a while you could hear a murmur. He received a few scattered hands on the finish. Will change his place to-night in order to save him. 22 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Three Seldoms

3 men. First appearance. Posturing act. They give us ten poses in White Bas Relief. The poses are artistic and perfect and I believe it is one of the best acts of this style we have ever had. Each pose was appreciated and they finished to a big lot of applause. 9 min. drapery in two. 2 shows.

Ann Warrington & Co.

Two men and a woman with the assistance of a property boy in a comedy: ‘The First of May.’ This act in greatly improved since it was tired out here. Not a dull moment – full of life and action. Woman does the talking – husband does the mimic. He does not speak a word. The hit of the show up to this time. Full deserves a better place. 19 min, full stage, 2 shows.

Della Clarke & Co.

Man and woman in a character comedy sketch entitled: ‘Half-Past Two.’ Miss Clarke impersonates three characters: The Lisping Girl – The Boot-Black – and an Actress. The act contains several good laughs and holds the attention of the audience. Man is quite a good vocalist. The act is alright for an early piece on the programme, about 2 and 8 o’clock. 21 min, full stage, 3 shows.

Rado & Bertman

In the alleged character comedy sketch: ‘The New Girl.’ Man does some very good contortion work and some excellent acrobatic dancing, which just about saves the sketch and makes it an acceptable three-a-day act. 16 min in two, close in one.

Berzac’s Circus

This act has been critised [sic] in Boston and New York. All that has been said about it is true. The work with the donkey is a scream, while the pony on the revolving table is spectacular, and created all kinds of enthusiasm. Will undoubtedly be a knockout for the week. 15 min. Circus in 5.

Jules & Ella Garrison

In their burlesque entitled, ‘An Ancient Roman.’ Second time in this house for this burlesque, which has been elaborated upon since last here, and which is now a mighty good vehicle for laughing purposes only. The work of the Garrisons is well and favourably known on the circuit, and they had no trouble in making good this afternoon on a very late spot on the bill. 23 mins, spec.

Cecelia Loftus

Imitations. Miss Loftus was a disappointment in a way this afternoon, as she did not by any means arouse the enthusiasm that we looked for. The fact that the show ran late, and that the audience was one of the sleepiest we have had this season probably accounts for it. Each imitation was applauded, however, and there is no question but what she will prove a drawing card for the balance of the week. 19 mins. CDF in 2 and closes 4 mins. Olio in 1.

A.O. Duncan

Ventriloquist. While this man may have superiors in the ventriloquial line, he easily leads them all in the material he presents, always having something new and up to date. Received a good hand on his entrance, and was the first act on the bill to wake up a sleepy house. Scored many big laughs, and closed to strong applause. A hit to-day and always in this house. 19 mins. CDF 2 ½ close 3 mins. 1.

James Francis Dooley & Girls

James Francis Dooley assisted by Dorothy Brenner and Ethel Rose, in songs and dances. Dooley sings well, and has a good selection of songs. Both of the girls are attractive, and one scores quite strongly in an imitation of Eva Tanguay, which is good, while the other does some toe dancing that is all right. Act as a whole is good if not on too late. 21 mins. St. in 1.
