3 Seldoms

Three men in artistic poses of ancient and modern statuary. All are finely developed and well schooled. Each picture was appreciated and at the finish they received hearty applause. From an artistic stand point, the act is a winner, and there is no question but what it will be well received by our night houses. 10 mins. Spec. 3.

Hal Davis – Inez McCauley & Co.

3 men and a woman. In Edmund Day’s one-act play, ‘Pals.’ Well known over the circuit. Although the act was seen here before, the comedy and the sensational finish went full as strong as the last engagement. Received four curtain calls on the finish. 21 mins, 2 shows.

Campbell & Johnson

Bicyclists. 2 men. Both doing the comedy end. Some of the work is very good and the comedy is excellent. One of the men does a somersault from the stage over the footlights in the center of the aisle, thereby creating a tremendous laugh, which I am little afraid of, it being rather dangerous. The act as far as the trick work is concerned is the same as the Three Merrills. 15 min, full stage, 2 shows.

Kelly & Kent

Man and woman. In a comedy sketch. The woman is new and I think fully as good as the old partner. They were a little slow on the start-off, but managed to get them on the finish with their tough dance, which proved to be the biggest applause hit of the show up to this time. 17 min, full stage, close in one, 3 shows.

Ben Johnson

Works straight. Pleasing personality. Was rather disappointed in this fellow to-day. He only got a small hand in this place on the bill. His act consists of stories and recitations. Received the biggest hand of the parody of ‘Barbara Fretchie.’ His stories got very few laughs. 17 min in one.

Bruce & Daigneau

2 women. Carrying their own scenery, gives the act a little bit of novelty and makes it thoroughly alright for the three-show section. Their voices sound off due to a cold. Will place them a little earlier tonight. This place on the program is a little late. 11 min, open in one -3 shows.

The Gregson’s

Man and woman. Singing and dancing. Woman is very attractive looking. Quite a pretty fair singer, while the man just about passes. One of the neatest of this kind we have ever had. Will try and give them a better place. 16 min, in one.

Lew Bloom and Jane Cooper

2 shows, 21 min, full stage. In the skit, ‘A Picture from Life,’ which only serves to introduce Bloom in his clever work as a tramp comedian. He was greeted with a good hand when he came on, which shows that he is somewhat of a favorite here. Went with laughter and applause throughout and were it possible I would move them further down the bill.

Winona Winter

2 shows, 13 min in 1. Mimetic and singing comedienne with a pleasing personality. She opens with a quiet little song and then impersonates several English favorites and Vernon, the ventriloquist. Went big in this spot this afternoon coming before the curtain three or four times to bow acknowledgment. Will shift with Geo. Day for tonight.

The Hurleys

3 show, 9 min, full stage. Man and woman, neatly costumed, in a fair exhibition of equilibrium. It is a good little side act for an opener for this house. None of their feats are by any means remarkable, but it is all right.
