Booker & Corbley

In their Irish comedy entitled ‘The Walking Delegate.’ Described in previous criticism. Quite interesting and received a number of scattered laughs, although did not go as strong as we would like to have it. Will give them a better place to-night. 18 min, drop in 2, 2 shows.

Les Auberts

Man and woman. Parisian dancers. First American appearance. Act is on the style of the DeForrest’s but not as good or sensational. Merely a pleasing little dancing number, rather short, runs 8 min. Received some applause on the finish. Full stage.

Fitzgibbon, Morse & Drislane

In the toughest sort of spot this act made a big hit due entirely to Bert Fitzgibbon’s foolishness. The audience were very loathe to let them go. 15 min. in 3, doing a short close in 1, which was not very good, 2 shows.

J.K. Murray & Clara Lane

These people went only fairly in their straight singing work but finished very strong with their operatic duo. I have an idea they will draw money though, judging from the advance applause received. 20 min open full stage, about 3 min. in 1, 2 shows.

Leila Taylor

Singing comedienne. This girl, with proper training, and a little more experience should do first rate in the three a day class. She is all right to play in the very early section at the salary she is booked. 11 min in one, 3 shows.

Herbert Kelcey & Effie Shannon

Supported by a competent company in the dramatic sketch entitled, ‘The String of Pearls.’ While these people acted with all their well known artistic ability, the sketch itself is so quiet and lacking in dramatic situations, that they failed to do much more than please. Do not consider it by any means as good as their former sketch. Will undoubtedly go better as we will place them much earlier on the bill, as at this point they put to-night an awful crimp in the show. Would not care to play them again in this sketch. 20 mins, CDF in 3. French window house backing.

Marshall P. Wilder

Always good for once a year in this house, and was greeted with advance applause. Had no trouble in keeping the audience entertained. While he does not appeal to the top of the house, he is a good drawing card for the lower floor and boxes. 17 mins. Olio in 1. Large frame backing in 2.

Foy & Clark

In their new one act play ‘The Modern Jonah.’ The whole act is supposed to be played at the bottom of the sea. Well staged and Miss Clark’s costume is very beautiful and appropriate. These people have good material, and present it well. The audience liked them, and were generous with laughter and applause. 16 mins, Spec. in 4.

Clifford and Burke

2 shows, 19 min. in 1. Blackface singing, dancing and talking comedians. Before this act came many of the people went out, owing to the fact I believe, that they imagined there was nothing big in store for them, but they were greatly mistaken. Had considerable new material since they were last here, and went with laughter and applause throughout. One of the hits of the show much to my surprise. In spite of this, we will be obliged to move them up to give a sort of ‘retainer’ to the closing portion of the bill.

Clark & Florette

3 shows, 13 min in 1. Man and woman, neatly dressed, in singing and dancing specialties. The man’s ‘coon’ shouting did not reach the ‘dead’ audience , but coupled with the woman’s dancing makes it a nice little act for the 3-a-day section and I have no doubt but what it will make good the balance of the week.
