Permane Brothers

These men make very good, in fact quite a hit. The description of their act was given by New York last week so it will not be necessary for me to go into details. 12 minutes open full stage close in one.

The Petite Florodora Company

That the audience was interested in this act was demonstrated by the flutter of interest when the announcing card was shown. The first part of the act, the singing of “The Shades of the Palms” by one of the men got quite a round of applause. This feature they had not intended putting in but at rehearsal I noticed that it was omitted and I hustled round and got the music for them and had it introduced. They followed this with a song and dance by two people which went fairly and then came the Double Sextete which got a big round of applause, on the entrance of the people. The men’s singing, gave the very best of satisfaction but the girls had no voices at all although they are stunning looking women. They managed to get a couple of encored on this part of the act but there was no great demonstration of approval, although most people whom I have talked with were pleased with the act. I think it will draw for one week in any house, but am very doubtful of its running two weeks anywhere. 15 min. full stage. In case of emergency they could open in one, with one song of about three minutes.

Josephine Sabel

To my mind this woman has no business on the Keith’s Circuit. Her methods are the coarsest and she makes up for her entire lack of ability only by her tremendous infusion of ginger and broadness in the work. 11 minutes in one.

Mr. & Mrs. Harry Thorne

In “An Up-town Flat”. It is really remarkable how many laughs these people can get out of this old act and cannot do anything else. It has been seen here too much to give it as important a place on the bill as I have to, this week, but when placed right it must be classed as a very good three a day act. 25 minutes in three.

Jones & Sutton

Colored singers and dancers. These people are about as good as the average colored act and go first rate with the audience. 14 min. in two closing in one. They can work entirely in one but not to such good advantage.

Hallen & Fuller

Presenting the sketch entitled “Election Bets.” As a dramatic vehicle this skit contains very little to recommend it. Were it not for the capable acting of Mr. Hallen and his partner it would not have caught on with our audiences the way that it has. 18 minutes full stage.

Marie Dressler

This artist occupies the top round of artistic and vocal prominence. She is one of the greatest drawing cards in vaudeville. 15 minutes in II and 5 minutes in I.

Johnson, Davenport & Lorello

“The football players and the farmer” is the way this trio of acrobats bill themselves. This is the first gymnastic act that I have ever seen the comedy of which was not painful. One member of this party is an excellent comedian. As acrobats they are at the top. 15 minutes full stage and 3 minutes in 1.

W. H. Murphy & Blanche Nichols

Presenting the sketch “The Bifurcated Girl.” An exceedingly funny and original skit. It keeps our audiences in continuous laughter from the rise to the fall of the curtain. 23 minutes in 3.

Jas. F. Dooley

15 mins. In one-James was the weakest of the many weak spots on the bill. He imitates Jack Horworth. He has stolen a little from him; some from Billy Clifford and more from other people. He was of the old team of Dooley & Fowley, I believe. The hashed up mess he presented this afternoon would not warrant him being classed as anything, but good to fill in time when the audience is out eating supper.
