12 min. in 2 – Novelty comedy juggler. He is not very funny, but is skillful in the manipulation of small articles, and scores in an easy place in the bill. His big hit is made by catching apples on a fork held in the mouth, the fruit thrown at him from the audience.
14 min. in 2 – Talking, singing and dancing sketch by a man and a woman. The comedy is of a very watery nature, but the singing and dancing fair. Considered from the old 3-a-day standpoint it can be classed as fair. Can work in one altogether if required.
Sam, Clara and Paul. Singers, Dancers and Comedians. They are too well known to require any extended comment. It is one of the best acts in Vaudeville to day. The hit of the bill. Open in one, go to full stage, close in one. Time 27 minutes.
“Locked out at 3 A.M.” A delightful little comedy sketch, and capitally acted, climax very funny, was much appreciated by the audience. Carry their own scenery. All in two. Time 18 minutes.
Presenting, “The Vaudeville Exchange”. These people had the audience laughing all the time they were on the stage, so it is to be presumed the act pleased. 25 minutes, full stage.
A musical novelty in which four women and three men participate the latter made up as a wench. While the idea is a good one it has not been introduced by the male members while the women are making a change of costume, is tiresome and irrelevant. The act will not do in its present shape. 27 minutes full stage and 4 minutes in 1.
Ventriloquist. This act has been improved materially by the addition of some new set houses and figures and he has his dummies in the form of animals and people and from all parts of the stage. The audience being continually surprised by some new dummy popping forth. This is unquestionably the strongest act of its kind in business. 18 minutes in one, open full stage and closed in one.
Man, woman and little girl in singing and dancing act then opening of which is like most of the acts of that kind and rather tame but they pull up very strong at the finish, with some eccentric dancing. They make a big hit in a very difficult place on the bill, and at least we must class the act as good. 20 min. in one.
Contortionist. The same act she had previously done and which goes very strongly with our audience, principally upon account of her dainty and neat appearance. I placed the act this week, at Mr. Albee’s suggestion, in one, and turned the platform out under the curtain. It went very well indeed. 10 min.
This act is very good in spots, but in other spots it drags frightfully. On the whole it makes good but to my mind is not worth more than G.H.R. It has been improved since it was on the Circuit before but is not a great act by any means. 25 min. full stage.
