Milly Capell

Capell and her performing horse and hunting dogs. Judging from yesterday’s audience this is about the strongest animal act that we have ever imported. The woman is a strikingly pretty girl and the horse is a beauty. She does no riding at all but puts the animal through a lot of high grade training movements, which he [horse] accomplishes with wonderful accuracy and grace. The finish of the act where she and her hose to the march around the stage with the dogs cutting figure 8’s between their limbs and the fore and hand limbs of the horse, makes a tremendous hit. I have extended her time on the circuit from four to seven weeks. 10 minutes; full stage.

Mayme Remington & Picks

This has developed [sic] into a first-class act of its kind. The girl as a very good singer and she has three good coons, one of them being especially funny on account of the way she is built. 17 minutes in one.

Lloyd & Waltone

This is a man and woman in a singing act, and they are both supposed to be Baritones; that is, the man is a baritone and the woman has a rather low contralto voice. They sing pretty well together, but there is not much evidence of cultivation in their voices, however, the audience was not looking for that and they were nicely received. 17 minutes; full stage; can close in one.

Raymond & Hart

Two girls in a singing and dancing specialty. The girls are neatly dressed and rather pretty. They sing nicely and beyond a tendency to be a little too rough, are all right. 8 minutes; full stage.

Martin & Quigg

Two men in a sketch which they call “The Long and the Short of It”, Martin being very tall and Quigg being practically a dward [sic]. The act is not especially strong although it went all right here, and can be called a fair act. 15 minutes in one.

Flora

A girl on the wire: This women gives an imitation of a tough girl walking slack wire and does the old-time strip act to tights There is nothing specially [sic] bad about it, but I think New York and Philadelphia would be about the only houses where she could play as there are times when she is a little inclined to be coarse and has to be cut down considerably. 13 minutes; full stage.

Travelle

A juggler and Shadowgraph artist. This is a new performer in this section of country, but he is a very good one. His shadowgraphs provide quite a novelty on account of the fact that we have not had any here in so long. 126 minutes, full stage, closing in one.

Miller & Kresko

Two men made up as mulattos, neatly dresses and do a singing, dancing and talking act. Their singing and dancing are both all right but their talking is weak. They are all right in their place on the bill. 13 minutes in two.

Wormwood’s Dogs and Monkeys

20 min. full stage, 2 shows. This is also in my mind they best act of its kind as the animals seem to have no fear of the trainer. There is so much comedy in the act that it will be the drawing card for the week.

The Three Melanis

17 min. in one, 2 shows. This is the big hit of the show. While the violinist of the trio is not as good as that of the Three Dumands, the whole act is better and contains more variety. It is the best musical act I know of, of its kind.
