3 shows. 15 minutes. Open full stage, close in one. Comedy singing sketch by a man and a woman, neither of whom are conspicuously clever. They finish with some burlesque operatic work in costume. They got considerable applause notwithstanding their vocal abilities are limited, especially those of the woman, and personal opinions do not count when the audience is satisfied. A fair three-a-day turn.
Carry their own set to be used in 4. 16 minutes. This act is a four-flusher. The stage setting please[s] the eye and the spectator is left to expect something unusually interesting but sees nothing more than an ordinary horizontal bar performance made worse by a lot of silly pantomime. The act would really go better straight.
Society Caricaturist. With the assistance of a maid Miss Norman dresses the part of four typical society belles from four representative cities of this country; New York, San Francisco, Boston and Chicago. Her monologue is each is bright and active; the distinction marked in its cleverness and unquestionably makes a decided hit here. Her costumes are extremely fetching and the entire act shows careful preparation. Full stage. Time 19.
One man and two women in Roman peasant costume; the man plays cello and one of the woman a guitar solo while the other woman sings fairly; although all the selections are of a prohibitive age. Work in one. Time 16 minutes.
In sketch “the spring of youth.” No change in this act, but it is full of laughs from start to finish; situations are unique and make a hit with the audience. Use two house men. Full stage. Time 20.
In a talking act which they have christened “A Congressman-at-Large.” These performers are exceptionally clever and keep their audiences convulsed from start to finish. 18 minutes in I.
An exceedingly pretty woman who performs with a troup of trained dogs and a horse. Considered from a picturesque viewpoint this act a “blue ribbon” winner; from an artistic standpoint it contains nothing new or novel. 10 minutes full stage.
Presenting a sketch entitled ‘The Baron’s Love Story.” This vehicle in the hands of other than these clever people would not go the way it has here. Mr Clement is an artist who could win his audiences with material that less talented performers would ‘get the flag’ on. 30 minutes full stage.
Parlor in 4. 14 minutes. Artistic monologues, divided into four parts each part telling a separate story but all fitting into each other. Attracts the most cultured people but pleases all classes. Monologue exceedingly artistic. Wore a new gown costing $500 and may be said to have scored a personal triumph. First engagement in vaudeville.
Exterior. Full stage. 25 minutes. One of the handsomest dressed acts of its kind and most amusing in vaudeville. Ponies exceedingly well trained. Introduces some dogs and monkies that make lot of laughter. Whole act goes big.
