3 shows. 13 min. in one. This man does card tricks, and finishes with a canary bird transformation from a paper bag to a cage. There is little finish to the act, and the tricks are all commonplace.
3 shows. 12 min. full stage. This is a balancing and equilibristic specialty by a man who is assisted by a woman, the latter principally serving to fill out the stage picture. There is nothing remarkable in the act, as it is purely an exhibition of strength.
2 shows. 20 min. Fancy in 2-Man and woman in electrical experiments. We featured the act because it was a novelty. For its foundation it has a wireless telegraphy stunt that appears to be genuine, but is produced by clever deception. Act went only fair this afternoon, but with sufficient advertising could be made a feature, and might make good as such.
Entire act in one. Presenting the sweet and simple melodies and music of the far away islands. One of their numbers is Queen Lil’s own composition, written when compelled to leave her throne. Introducing Kamakee, one of the two surviving “Chanters used to invoke the many gods of the natives during religious festivals. They were dressed in native costume, sang sweetly, played instruments splendidly and made a pronounced hit.
Can do entire act in one. Eccentric comedy duo. LeRoy has some unusually clever material which went well. Would be stronger along as the woman weakens the act. Pleases very much and a little trimming here and there would make it a valuable act.
Garden in 4. Two acrobats and tumblers who use eighteen supernumaries in the act. After a series of interesting feats one of them double somersaults over the heads of the eighteen men standing in line and finishes with a remarkable series of single somersaults.
In 1. 12 minutes. Does a unique ambidextrous act, drawing cartoons with left and right hand simultaneously. Always manages to get good press notices through former newspaper friends of his father, the cartoonists.
Garden in 3. 10 minutes. Acrobats and gymnasts sometimes called the St. Leon Family. Man and woman, ten year old boy, and two girls. These people don’t do any wonderful feats but everything they do is done gracefully. They have quite an assortment of costumes and always make a neat appearance.
Star Messo-Soprano. Has a voice of wonderful sweetness of expression, and her selections made a decided hit. Used grand piano accompaniment only with full stage. For concert work however, her rendition is extremely operatic, but as a whole, her engagement was a great success. Time 15 minutes.
In sketch “Caesar’s Angel”. If this act was cut in half and the first part discarded it would be much improved. Are both clever artists and Favor’s song seems to take. Miss Sinclair presents a very fine appearance and handsome costumes. Full stage. Time 29 minutes.
