Fred Weber and Co. is an especially clever ventriloquist offering. Weber’s work being particularly good in taking the dummy from the valise.
Dan Clancy the naval ventriloquist with a battleship drop and a dummy representing a wireless operator, navigated in good style. Fished up a number of laugh and received a satisfying bombardment of applause at his close.
Ray Conlin and his ex-soldier dummy, drew the number two spot and got away well. Conlin’s ventriloquial efforts centered on laugh rather than difficult feats of voice control, and the act went big.
“The Great” Howard next did his ventriloquial act staged in a Red Cross but in the battle some of the sometime deceased war. He used a couple of soldier dummies and got laughs on the cross-free talk between them, but should bring his songs up to date.
