Al Coleman

Story teller and mimic. This young fellow tells stories very well indeed, and he got a lot of applause this afternoon and seemed to please the audience during the entire time he was on the stage. He does not appear, however, to have a very strong personality and that, I fear, will always keep him in the early part of the bill. 15 minutes in one.

Cooke and Don

A talking act bilt [sic] on new lines as described by Mr. Hodgerton, in his report of a short time ago. May be classed as good if gotten on before two o’clock or right. 18 minutes in one.

Wm. Cahill

GYH-This man comes nearer to being to being a second J. W. Kelly than any performer in his line whom I have ever seen, and he makes no pretense whatever of imitating Kelly, which is strongly in his favor. He tells a lot of very good stories in an Irish dialect and tells them well and he went strong this afternoon. 15 minutes in one.

Carlisle & Lomal

17 min, in “One.” Quiet talking act, with a song or two by the lady. Got some laughs and closed to a fair hand.

Al Coleman

This young fellow I think, is going to make a good performer. It is a quiet turn of stories and mimicry, and it is hardly fair to criticize him this afternoon, as he had an awful hard place on the bill, following the last of the big acts, and before he reached the audience many of them started to go out. At that he made good and can easily be called a good act. 14 minutes in one. HR.

Ed. J. Rice

15 min. in 1. He is a newcomer in vaudeville, of gentlemanly appearance and has a good delivery. His stories are of the better class and he appeals more to the lower portion of the house than balconies. His recitation of “Barbara Freitche” in broken dialect, as a Dutchman would do it, was capital. In the earlier section of the better part of the show he is all right.

James Kennedy and Belle James

16 min. open full stage, can close in 1. This is a talking act, something on the order of Leroy and Woodford, but the material used is of a rougher kind. I was obliged to cut out several of his coarser wittisms. There is some fair singing and excellent eccentric dancing. From the old 3 a-day stand point the act is a good one.

Jas. Richmond Glenroy

GYH. Eccentric talking act. On the afternoon bill we were obliged to cut his turn down to about half, as the show was very late. At that he went well and will undoubtedly be received with the usual applause on the night show. 15 minutes, in one.

Rae and Bressche

18 min. Man and woman, in a sort of a crazy disjointed talking act that can be classed as good. The woman talks like lightning and their unusual work in the close in one, where they use a stage hand, took the audience. Good act.

Hines and Remington

GNH. Man and woman in a talking act. There is no question but what Miss Remington is one of the brightest women in the business, and she always manages to bring more or less new material every time they come around. The act had a very hard place on the bill this afternoon, but still they went strong. 19 min. in one.
