Lillian Shaw

Character singer. Rather a pretty girl who opens with a coon song and then make a change and songs some Hebrew parodies. The act went fairly well this afternoon and much better to-night on account of the City audience. This is a very acceptable three-show acts, especially for New York. 11 minutes, in one.

Eva Midge

Character Changes. The changes were made with remarkable rapidity and caused wonderment with the audience but her singing and other work didn’t go very strong until she sang Bill Bailey, in which she made a big hit. 15 min. closing [sic] in one.

Lillian Shaw

NH 2. Hebrew songs and impersonations. This girl, much to my surprise, went very strong. The Loraine act is a terrible act to follow, and I rather anticipated that she would be a terrible failure but was obliged to place her there as I had no other act that would fit that spot. She certainly made good this afternoon, although she undoubtedly goes better in New York than she will in any other town on the circuit. 18 minutes in one.

Eva Mudge

“The Military Maid”. This young lady is just as pleasing as ever. She has one new song and recital in her changes, called “The Highwayman” which is exceedingly good. She has no equal in this country in quick character changes. Always goes strong. Full stage, close in one. Time 15 minutes.

Grace Leonard

First time here for this young woman, billed as the ‘American Vesta Tilley’ in vocal character changes. Has a pleasing personality, good voice and received a big lot of applause after each character. Fully able to go down further in the programme. Drapery in one, three shows, fifteen minutes.

Dixon and Holmes

3 shows, 21 min in 1. Character singers, storytellers and impersonators. Very good act of its kind, appealing particularly to the balconies. Their ‘Shore Acres’ scene and the impersonation of Fritz Emmett with song, were the big things of the act. Good for an early place in the 2-show section.

C.W. Littlefield

In this spot on the bill he got by all right, and if he were doing three shows, I would say, he did a good act, but he never can get in the 2 a day section and make ‘good’ in this house. He did that fairly successfully some years ago but he has not kept abreast of the times as all and he now had a good Sunday School act and that is about all there is to it. 18 min in one, 2 shows.

C. W. Littlefield

NH 2. Character impersonator and vocalist, the hit of his act being his pantomime representation of a lad at a dressing table, which always seems to impress the women. 19 minutes in one.

Violet Dale

In singing and mimicry. This act is not up to the standard. 11 mins. in one.

Fannie Rice

MRR 2. Miss Rice opens with a song in which she uses an umbrella with an electrical light attachment, which did not work very smoothly this afternoon. She then goes to her familiar cabinet work on the living doll order and gives us five different impersonations, all of which are well enough in their way, but are no longer much of a novelty. It is a good act, however, but I should not care to play her again at the figure she is getting. 22 minutes in one.
