Pat Rooney & Marion Bent

“At The Newstand.” Open in special back drop, close in 1. Time 15. These delightful dancers and entertainers went with their customary hit.

Billy Gaton and Minerva Coverdale

Singing, talking and a little dancing. Both Gaston and Miss Coverdale make three changes of costume which are very beautiful. The act caught from the start and went very big. 4 min. full stage.

Rooney & Bent

Same clever little pair as ever, doing “At the News Stand.” A lot of comedy in the lines and the kind of singing and dancing this pair is noted for. The act went very well all the way through and finished O.K. Pat is greatly worried because is on so early and I will no doubt have to pat him on the back and talk him out of it. The act is really all that could be desired. 13 minutes, special set in 2.

Princess Miroff

13 minutes in one. Own plush drop. A very attractive looking woman, with pretty costumes who has a nice voice and a good Russian dance finish that goes very well. Good act for any house.

Melnotte Twins and Clay Smith

Singing and dancing. A good singing and dancing act, girls make four changes of costume which helps act a whole lot. Was received very well. 18 min. in one.

Felix and Caire

“In Search of a Past.” 7 scenes with quite a bit of special scenery. These two young people work very hard, but are hardly good enough for a No. 4 position on our bill. They would go better No. 3. Some of their songs are good, and so is their dancing. We must admit, however, that they were working under difficulties because of some confusion in their settings.

McMahon, Diamond & Clemence

Featuring “The Scarecrow Dance.” Two girls and a young man in a neat little singing and dancing act. The man is an exceptionally clever dancer, and the young girl, as the “scarecrow” is very good. Could hold a better position on the bill. Open in one. Close in two.

Bert Terrill

This place has been rather an unfortunate position. At the Monday afternoon performance, Creighton Brothers were an absolute fiasco, their material is bad, in fact, everything they attempted failed to get over. At the evening performance, Jerge and Hamilton, man and woman in songs and dances tried to fill the gap. They were a little stronger than Creighton Brothers but fell short. The woman makes a pleasing appearance, good voice, but extremely weak as a comedienne, trying to force her work. The man is a poor assistant; while he has a good voice, he lacks finish. Bert Terrill, a Tyrolean Yodler [sic] with an excellent repertoire, including a clever impersonation, negotiated the place in splendid manner. He is a good Dutch character vocalist, works fast and covers the entire stage during the rendition of his songs. Ten minutes in one.

Roberts, Hayes & Roberts

Two men, one woman, in comedy, singing and dancing skit, “On the Road.” Sort of farce-comedy, opening in 3 with finale. Special drop. Singing and dancing in 1. The close-in is the best part of the act, the preceding part being somewhat crude and without particular value. Did fairly well throughout, working up to a good finish and concluding moderately strong. Double set in 3, special in 1. 21 minutes. (Open)

Farber Girls

13 minutes in one. Garden. Two extremely pretty and clever girls in songs and dances. A neat little sister act that is unfortunately somewhat marred by the attempt of the younger girls to act “tough.” Went over very well at both shows today.
