This team is composed of Myrtle Young formerly of Moore and Young and Jack Waldron formerly of Lockett and Waldron. An act of singing and dancing, principally dancing eccentric order. Fairly good act. 10 minutes in one.
Should really be the Aki Quartette as there is a little girl in the act who sings and dances – not a small feature of the company. They do some excellent magical work of unusual order and up-side-down and backward writing. Very good act. 15 minutes full stage.
In “Seeley’s Syncopated Studio.” 21 minutes fs. Light interior. Short opening in one. Despite the fact that Miss Seeley closed one of the swiftest shows of the season, with lots of singing and dancing, she was the hit of the show. Closed very strong.
In “Twenty Miles from Nowhere” – two men and two women; special western scene; act consisting of singing, talking and dancing. The dancing in this act is great and went over big with a great hand. Full stage; 13 min.
19 min. This new act is the best this couple has ever done. Their songs are new and splendidly delivered, and their bit of dancing is executed with splendid effect. They work in just enough comedy to keep the laughs going and finished to a big hand.
27 min. So far as comedy and songs go, the act she is doing with Larry Comer is as good as anything she has done recently. They have some good songs and crossfire comedy chatter which is well handled, but the dancing is not as strong a feature as formerly. The act went well, finishing strong.
13 min. Man and woman in a singing and dancing act which is just about fair. The woman gets some comedy out of a Charley Chaplin number. One double dance helps to hold up the act up, but finished very light.
17 min. Their present offering is framed up about the same way as their old act and a lot of material used is also old. Instead of the dramatic travesties used formerly, they have a couple of burlesque song numbers. Finished to a good hand after starting slowly.
I can’t for the life of me understand why so many people have said that this is a new act, or a better act than the one they did last season. As a matter of fact, it is exactly the same act with the change of a couple of songs and the introduction of a very short Hawaiian dance by one of the men, and the elimination of some good dancing by one of the three former members. I think the payment of an increase of salary to these people this year is one of the biggest impositions we have had. I am saying this in spite of the fact that it is a good act and was quite well received. 15 minutes in one.
Singing and dancing, very nicely dressed act, singing and dancing ordinary, man and woman, 9 minutes in one, just went fair.
