Elvire Framcelli and Tom Lewis

2 shows, 14 min. in 1. These people have a circus drop in 1 and make two costume changes. They are good singers, and in that respect have not deteriorated any, but Lewis tries to be funny in this act, with little or no effect. They have a small boy with them who sings a song in rather a weak voice. There is a bit of a novelty about this act, but on the whole, I would personally prefer their singing straight, as in the past.

Van Alstyne & Henry

Singing comedy. Received a big lot of advance applause. Van Alstyne scored big hit with his piano playing. Louise Henry is only a fair singer, looks attractive and being the ‘Sal Skinner Gal’ lets her out. They received quite a number of laughs in spots, but closed very weak. Twenty-three minutes in two, two shows.

Lorraine and Gandy

Man and woman, billed as the ‘man with the funny legs and the woman with the big voice.’ The voice is ‘big’ all right, and it’s somewhat shine. Woman is neatly gowned and not a bad looker. They talk a little and the man does some acrobatic work. All right for the price in this spot. Had to cut some ‘jokes.’ 12 mins. in one.

Dick Lynch

Formerly Lynch & Jewell. This man is all right from the 3-a-day standpoint, but the pace down here is a little too warm for him. Will rearrange the show in order to give him better chance. He uses the burlesque illustrated songs, which failed to amuse this afternoon. Tells some new stories, and being a little nervous twisted some of the stories. He received some applause on his dancing, which is very good. 3 shows, 17 minutes, drop one.

Dick Lynch

This man has an act which from the three a day standpoint in exceptionally good and can be placed with satisfaction on the early two a day section, say up to 8:30. He opens with the Burlesque illustrated songs and tells a number of new stories (Note! New!) and finishes with some clog dancing in which we all know he excels. 18 min, in one, 3 shows.

Grace Cameron

This young woman went exceptionally well today. She has a turn of songs including costume changes. The only part of her act I didn’t like was that her costumes are not as nice as they should be. She has an exceptionally good voice and a dainty manner and a good idea of clean comedy. Her little Baby song and Dolly Dimples went exceptionally well. 16 min in one, 2 shows.

Grace Cameron

2 shows, 16 min in 1. Noted vocal comedienne, late of ‘Piff, Paff, Pouf.’ Before a crowded house this afternoon this artist (and the word is not misapplied in her case) scored a bigger hit than anyone doing her class of work within my memory in this theatre. On her ‘Dolly Dimples’ song she was encored and encored. Got a round of applause when she came on first which demonstrated that she was known, although I had no idea of it, personally, and in this particular house she is worth three Maggie Clines, as she gives ‘tone’ to our program that was lacking.

J. Aldrich Libby and Katherine Trayer

2 shows, 19 minutes, open in 3, close in 1. In a comedy (?) and singing specialty. The man reported something the matter with his throat and did not sing today; the woman was in fair voice. The act should properly be in the 3-show section. They got a limited amount of applause, which was to be expected since this is their home city.

John W. World and Mindell Kingston

2 shows, 20 min. open in 1, go in 3, and close in 1. Eccentric comedian and comic opera soubrette. Scored a solid hit all through their act. World is decidedly a clever chap and gave some new character work, with songs. Miss Kingston is a capital singer and a lively dancer. In fact, as a vocalist, she excels most of the straight singers whom we have had here of late.
