Annie & Jennie Yeamans

Sketch, ‘Making an Actress.’ Some strong applause in advance. Sketch very bright in spots and far exceeded expectations. Certainly a remarkable  old lady is Mrs. Yeamans, bringing some money to the house, no doubt, on her name, and the fact that a ‘legit’ of ‘seventy last November,’ as she is not loth to confess over the footlights, can be ‘just as young as she used to be.’ Applause frequent and not all on account of sympathy either. Will go better tonight. 18 min. closing in 1.

Raymond & Caverly

YRR 2. German comedians. Two men, well known on the circuit. Probably about as good as any of the Dutch talking acts we play. Always make good here, and today were the applause hit of the show. 21 mins. in one.

Bloom & Cooper

This act was criticised rather severely in all of the morning papers as being a little too coarse for Cleveland, still the act went big. There is nothing in it that is objectionable in any way, except that the tramp character is a little roughly drawn. The songs are good and taking it all in all the act will pass muster anywhere. 23 minutes full stage.

Ray Cox

3 shows, 13 min. in 1. Singing comedienne and storyteller. She is a clever girl, with genuine Southern dialect, and although she started off somewhat slow she had the audience with her in great shape when she finished.

Dudley & Cheslyn

Man and woman in a singing and comedy act. The comedy consists of the woman telling a few dialect stories which would not be at all bad, if they were new, as her manner of rendition is quite good. She also sings a coon song and in a general way reminds one of “May Irwin” whom she somewhat resembles although not quite as large. It is a good three a day act. 14 min. in one.

Eckert & Berg

GHR 2. M&W. 24 mins. Open in 1, 3 mins. and close in one, 4 mins. Own set. Presenting an operatic singing comedy. They are both good singers and the act is finely dressed, containing numerous laughs. Mr. Berg’s piano solos were strongly applauded. The act was well received, and a novelty for our program.

Annie & Jennie Yeamans

Received a big lot of advance applause. Understood this act was greatly improved, but was rather disappointed. Act is on the same character as Jennie Yeamans’ single number with the mother to assist in introducing her specialties.  They were laughed at throughout and received a big lot of applause on the finish, but I presume it was through sympathy. They are down in the bill entirely too far. Will try to give them an earlier place. 18 min. drapery in two (close in about 5 min.)

Murray & Lane

Another big hit.  The personality of these people is simply immense to say nothing of their great voices.  Distinctly the hit of the show.  Six genuine curtains.  These people certainly are a find to Vaudeville.  Mr. Murray’s Comedy is funny, and refined and their finish in the duet from “Trovatore” was enormous.  Good in any bill at any time.  20 minutes, full stage.

Daisy Dumont

Vocalist, comedienne. This lady offered an apology to me before she went on as to the condition of her voice, claiming to be suffering from “bronchitis”. However, she “got by” very nicely and did better than I expected she would, judging from reports. She has a very charming personality, good enunciation and fair voice, and some good songs. 10 min. in 1, 2 shows.

Rialto Four

On at 2.21, 18 min, in 1. This act just falls short of being a really great quartet. They sing extremely well, far better than the usual run of such acts, and while the comedy is not tremendously funny, it gets quite a number of laughs. Cuts: removal of wax from ear.
