Grant & Hoag

20 min. in 1. A new line of material, all of which is especially good. Received laughter and applause throughout. Songs were particularly clever. Miss Hoag makes a very stunning appearance in two changes of costume. Closed big.

Gillette and MacFarland

16 minutes f.s. This couple now has a blackface servant in the act supposed to furnish a little comedy, but he had hard work getting it over to-day. The voices of these people will get them by anywhere, but there is more snap in the singing number in one.

Gus Edwards’ School Boys & Girls

28 min. F.S., close in one. This act has been greatly improved since it was first presented here. Songs are good and the comedy is very lively. The singing, both the solos and choruses, is commendable. Act goes very fast, and winds up with a good hurrah.

International Revue

Seven men. Dressed to represent different nationalities. “A New creation in Minstrelsy” — A blend of song and humor. This act did not go over as strong as I thought it would — only received a light hand through act and same at finish. 20 min. full.

Peggy Brooks

Singing comedienne. Singing and telling Scotch stories — Peggy could get her stories over with telling effect as she had the “brogue” with her. Received number of laughs through her act, also hands and a big hand at finish. Responded twice to encore. 12 min. in one.

Emma Carus

(24 mins.) One of the very best act she has ever given here and it went over fine. The songs are good and she is working with plenty of “pep”. A big laugh winner and closed strong.

Newhoff & Phelps

(24 mins.) Here is an act that has arrived not only as a singing but a comedy act and one that should be working every week. A good selection of songs, all well done, and they were one of the big applause winners of the bill.

Francis Bushman & Beverly Bayne

(30 mins.) Greeted by a capacity house their sketch was warmly received and it is a very good comedy to introduce these film stars in vaudeville. Sketch is well done and at the finish they took several bows and both principals made speeches that brought them additional applause.

Joe Darcey

(23 mins.) The songs used put this act over, as the comedy talk is a little rough and did not do so well. He has a very good voice and knows how to put songs over. This carried him through to a hit in the next to closing position, which he held very well.
