Minnie St. Clair

“The Girl from Missouri.” This character comedienne proved a veritable riot, continuous laughter greeting her almost from the time she entered until she finished. A genuine hit. 13 minutes. Olio in 1.

Nellie Nichols

14 min. in one. Advance applause. Miss Nichols makes a very pretty appearance and is certainly a very versatile and classy comedienne, full of vivacity and character humor. The audience gave her a strong reception and was loth to let her go on the finish, compelling her to make a little speech of thanks. A real hit in a hard spot.

Laddie Cliff

21 min. in one. Big advance hand. Laddie is a favorite here and everything he says and does is well applauded. Introduced some new songs, “The Coster and the Swell,” “Bit by Bit,” “Howdy Do, Miss Montague,” and others, all of which were quite up to the standard. Finished with the grotesque dance which got a big laugh.

Belle Blanche

22 min. full stage. This dainty singing comedienne has a good selection of material and is going splendidly; still, I think she is over paid at least one hundred dollars.

Stella Mayhew and Billie Taylor

21 minutes in two. Palace drop. They have a number of good songs, interspersed with some comedy that got quite a lot of laughs. Miss Mayhew makes three changes of costume during the act. The audience liked them immensely, all the numbers got a strong hand, and they closed big.

Ben Linn

Singing comedian. Mr. Linn seemed to be quite well liked and we can recommend him for any of the less important positions on a vaudeville bill. The spectacle of as fat a man as he trying to dance caused a lot of merriment. In one.

Ray Cox

In 1. Singing comedienne. Time 22. One of the big hits of the show. Her material is new here and very clever.

Nixley & Fine

2 men. In 1. Time 14. They open “straight” here this week at our request. Their songs make a big hit and the audience apparently didn’t get enough of them. They finish with a broad costume burlesque as Caruso and Melba.

J. Francis Dooley & Corinne Sayles

In 1. Time 27. Songs and sayings. They do some good work, but on the other hand there is much vulgarity and down right silliness utterly devoid of merit. They dragged the act out terribly and took so little encouragement for an encore that I was afraid somebody would call “get the hook.”

Lydia Barry

Comedienne. Miss Barry received a warm welcome on her entrance this afternoon and she thoroughly succeeded in keeping the audience well entertained. Her songs went over in great shape and she took several bows at the finish. Olio in 1. Time 10 min.
