Ruth Allen and Company
Miss Allen has the role of a athletic girls who is breezy, up-to-date and smokes. No gowns or frills. Muriel Fairfax (Miss Hart) has been invited to dine by the man with whom the athletic girl is in love with.
Wayburn Enterprises
Scenic setting and fine costumes. The girls are pretty. Her adventures cover “Toyland”, “Dreamland”, “Iceland” and “Way Down Yonder in the Cornfield”
Greene and Werner
Had to dispense with their most effect piece of stage setting. Greene has cut down on his facial contortions when annoucing the song used.
The Mimic Four
Three of the members have changed. Art Brook remains and Christine Cook, Grace Jennings and Frank Braid are all new. Cook as the maid was satisfactory. Jennings was too stiff. Both girls are good looking. Braid as the Senator needs to give the part more dignity.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Barry
Mr. Barry is a pantomime comedian and should consider doing a straight pantomime show. Mrs. Barry’s face was very expressive.
S. Miller Kent
The story has almost no action.
Jules and Ella Garrison
Roman Travesty Act. The marching of the stage crew went on too long.
Claude Gillingwater and Company
Six people in the cast and Gillingwater stands out as distinct. Carlyn Strelitz as the brother idolater was poorly cast. Richard Clarke as the butler played to good effect.
Hayes and Johnson
The novelty of the biographical “chasing” picture with the sisters dressed as children does not come until the end. The humor of the act lies in the size and weight of the principals.
