(19 mins.) A very good comedy sketch with a surprise finish. It is well played, got plenty of laughs and finished to a big hand.
In a Comedy Skit entitled “If Not, Tell the Manager” Singing, talking, dancing, comedy. 12 min. in one. Went poor.
(27 mins.) An excellent and distinctly unusual playlet. A mixture of comedy and dramatic incidents. It is very well played and created so much interest that Mr. Brooks was called before the curtain to make a speech. One of the best one-act plays we have ever had in the house and went over big.
12 min. in 2. Comedy sketch, got a few laughs, and closed to a fair hand.
15 min. in 1. Comedy sketch which held this spot fairly well.
“Singing & Stories” Fairly good.
In “YOU PiC k ‘EM” – Comedy skit, full of funny sayings, which went over good. 17 min. in one.
In “The Honeymoon” – (18 mins.) This sketch proved an excellent repeater. It played here several months ago, scoring a big hit and came back in the headline spot and registered just as solidly as before. It is one of the best comedy sketches we have ever played.
27 minutes f.s. “The School of Acting.” This evening, closing the show, this well known travesty made as big a hit as ever. Held the audience and made them laugh every minute.
In “Lucky Jim.” 30 minutes f.s. If this place could be cut about 10 minutes, and Jane Courthope would get away from her 10-20-30 style of emotional acting, it might be a good vaudeville feature. But as it is now, notwithstanding the beautiful scenery, which is as fine as anything that we have had, the boy alone saves it from being guyed.
