Lee Rogers and Co.

In the sketch “The Old Folks at Home” an old fashioned old Homestead act, with a capable company and a good story running through it. 4 people, and made a big hit. 32 min. full stage.

J.C. Nugent & Miss Jule York

In a one act comedy sketch, “The Squarer.” Mr. Nugent scored the biggest kind of a personal success and the support given him by Miss York was thoroughly satisfactory. There was an unlisted number of very clever lines and plenty of excellent business both of which are effectively put over by Nugent. The story is well worked out, being a case of one man trying to square the “drunk” of another hit (the others) wife. The act went big throughout and finished very strong. One of the best things we have has here for a long time. 27 minutes; open street in On, close C.D.F.

Charles & Fanny Van

15 minutes in one. they put on their new act, “The Stage Carpenter on the Road,” and although it came late in a comedy show did very well. The burlesque at the finish kind of weakened the act a bit, but Van will tame that down to-night and the promise is for an A1 act in one.

Eva Taylor & Co.

In “Chums.” This is a crackin’ good legitimate comedy sketch, excellently played and staged appropriately and in a most careful manner. The story is exceedingly well worked out and the laughs follow each other in rapid succession. The act in its entirety is one the best we have had for a long time. The individual work of every one of the four was wholly satisfactory and the finish was strong. 18 minutes, special in 3.

Fred Jarvis & Fredericka Harrison

In a little comedy skit, “It Happened in the Summer Time.” This act proved to be very entertaining, winning any number of laughs and several rounds of applause. It is not to be classed as great but is decidedly acceptable and s away from the beaten path. There is enough story to keep up the interest, one or two songs, some good comedy pantomime, all of which is new and which proved acceptable. The number can only be improved by condensation, as it consumes a little too much time. I shall talk to Jarvis along this line and believe he will agree with me. A little song and dance as the finish in One rounded out the number in nice shape, giving them a strong finish. 19 minutes, special in 2, olio in 1.

Valerie Bergere & Co.

29 min. F.S. “Billie’s First Love.” Advance applause. This is the first play in which Miss Bergere appeared in Vaudeville in this city, and the one in which, I am sure, she appears to the best advantage. A very absorbing theme and strongly presented. An unqualified hit. Closed big.

Una Clayton & Co.

27 min. F.S. “His Local Color.” A very good sketch indeed with a good deal of sprightly character, humor and some pathos. Held the interest of the audience and closed to big applause.

Sager Midgely & Dawn Elton

Supposed to be a comedy sketch with good reports from Camden and Wilmington. About the most tiresome lot of slush I have ever listened to. Midgely has not “come back” and his partner will never make an actress. C.D.Fcy in 3. Close in 1, 4 min.

Walker & Ill

Comedy sketch, man and woman. 22 minutes interior. Plenty of laughs. Went very well.

Rooney & Bent

“At the News Stand.” 17 min. in two. Advance applause. Same act as presented here before with a few new jokes. Went as big as usual, particularly Pat’s dancing which was strongly encored. Closed big after a second encore.
