Mrs. Louis James

With Elwood Bostwick and Laurett Browne in “Holding A Husband”. A comedy well written, bright lines and carefully drawn situations, with several strong laughs. Full stage, 14 minutes.

Florence Nash & Joseph Jefferson

With Minette Barrett in a problem play of the future, entitled “In 1999” by William C. de Mille, second week. This satire seems to fully as strong as last week, getting the usual quota of laughs if not more, with tremendous applause on the finish and five genuine curtain calls. Full stage, 18 minutes.

Ed Blondell & Co.

Comedy sketch, “The Last Boy.” Full stage, parlor set. Two women and one man. The sketch is very light and along the line of everything else Blondell has done for several seasons. The women in sketch are not good ‘feeders’ for Blondell, who does not put fire in his work he did in past years. The act was only fairly well received.

Sam Mann & Co.

In “The New Leader.” 25 minutes, bare stage. Same act as last year. A tremendous laughing hit throughout. Went very big.

Beatrice Ingram & Co.

In her slangy sketch, “The Duchess”. Three women and one man. Made a very satisfactory number throughout, gaining the necessary laughs and holding the interest with the serious portions of the offering. A perfectly satisfactory number. Finished very well. Kitchen in three. 19 minutes.

Callahan and St. George

“The Old Neighborhood.” 24 minutes f.s. special set. One of the best little Irish comedies we play. Went very well at both shows to-day.

Tom Wise & Co.

In a comedy sketch entitled “A Chip of the Old Block.” A very good little play, very well done. The principal support in the company holds up his end with Mr. Wise and comes pretty near being the star of the piece. As Mr. Wise was a former member of our stock company, naturally we expect him to draw us considerable business. 23 Min. F.S

Edmund Hayes & Co

In “The Piano Movers”. Two men and one woman. This comedy offering brought forth roars of laughter and seemed to be thoroughly appreciated. Hayes scored a genuine personal success. For some reason or another, the finish was only fair. Notwithstanding which the act must be credited as a laughing success. C.D.F. in three, 17 minutes.
