The Four of Us

Four men with rather mediocre voices in a quartette offering of songs. 14 minutes in one.

Five Annapolis Boys

14 min, This is a straight singing quintet four of the boys being dressed in sailor costume and the fifth is in officer’s uniform. Work in a setting showing a fort. They form a fairly good singing number and at the finish were given a liberal hand of applause. The uniforms and stage setting help to hold this act up.

Harmony Four

2 shows, 25 min. open full stage, close in one—This was the saving act of the bill; scored a big hit. The Quartet sing about as well as the average, being particularly good in their ensemble work, and one of them is a very good violinist. The Quartet show tremendous improvement over their work when here last.

Primrose Four

12 minutes in one. Olio drop. Big ‘Bob’ Webb was out of the quartette to-day, on account of the death of his wife. Expect him with us to-morrow. In spite of this handicap, the other boys went on as a trio, and got away with it in great shape.

The Basque Quartet

One of the best singing acts of the reason, and a hit from the first note. Singing all in French, and all operatic selection. A rich treat for our box patrons, and it also holds the closest attention of the gallery and balcony. 12 min. in one.

Basque Quartette

High-class French Operatic Vocalists. This act was really the hit of the show yesterday. Three men and one woman all having very good voices. The woman especially has a very fine voice, and they were compelled to sing their last song over twice. 13 minutes in one.

The Harmony Four

Four men, one working straight, three as comedians. Singing and dancing act. These are four Cleveland boys. They were given their start at the old Empire Theatre by the late Mr. Eirick seven years ago. They are very well known to Cleveland, and because of their many friends here, some allowance will have to be made for the reception they received. Good act. CDF in 3. Close in one. 14 min.

The Quartette

The first fall down on the bill.  I was prepared to see an act as good as “That Quartette”, but I found what was almost a frost.  The solo work of the tenor is very bad.  The work of the four men throughout was ragged, and I am wondering if I have the same four that played in the eastern houses.  Whether they have a ringer in or not.  The act is not strong enough for this spot.  They did 14 min. today and the audience seemed glad when it was over.

Big City Four

This is a very good act, and I like it just as well as I do That Quartette.  The men are very neatly dressed, and are very good singers, especially the Tenor who received several encores when he sang Sally in our Alley.  Went very good.  18 minutes in one.

The Quartette

Act is too well known for comment.  These men thought they were on a roof garden, and yelled so loud that they could be heard four blocks.  No use in trying to argue with them about it, for they know it all.  Drop in one.  14 minutes.
