Red Sox Quartette

13 min. in one. Big advance hand. These boys certainly caught the big crowd today right from the first and held them strong through every number up to the smashing big finish. This is a strong “fan” town, but aside from the interest they create on account of their baseball fans, they have fine voices and are well trained and have certainly justified all the flattering things that have been said about them in Boston and New York.

Big City Four

Male Quartet, introducing straight and comedy selections. A decided hit, with a very strong finish. Street in one, 19 minutes.

Big City Four

A quartett [sic] of well dressed men, offering rather old material, 16 min, in one. They sing “Mysterious Rag”, “I Want A Girl”, and “The Rosary”, each of which have been done here many times this season. They inject plenty of comedy in their act however, and were called back three different times. We have not had a better quartett [sic] this season.

Empire State Four

4 men, comedy quartette, singing is fairly good, comedy went good, its on the slap stick order, 12 minutes in one, went off with a big hand.

Avon Comedy Four

In “The New School Teacher”. Open 11 min., full stage, and close 11 min. in One. Same old act—Went big as ever. Close with some good quartette singing. A big hit.

Four Solis Brothers

While these four young men constitutes what is probably the best in their line, nevertheless, the act did not go so well this afternoon, probably due to the fact their music was just a little too classical for our audience. We brought this fact to their attention this afternoon and beginning tonight they will introduce a new program, incorporating popular airs.

Melody Lane Girls

Four young ladies with pleasing personality and good voices. 11 minutes in 1.

Red Sox Quartette

Got a reception on their entrance, every song they sang went well, rag time finish went big, don’t care much for their singing myself but there is no doubt but what they will draw some business this week. 14 minutes in one.

Red Sox Quartette

All week. One member shy, Bradley, called to Boston on account of Fathers [sic] death, they have changed some of the songs, don’t seem to make any difference, they are a clean up. 12 minutes in one.

TIPTOP FOUR.

11 Mins. The opening is a sort of lullaby medley made up of snatches of such standard numbers as “Mighty Lak a Rose.” The base has a solo and the four come together again for the continuation of quickly changing numbers. They don’t sing too much of any one selection but shift around frequently. The harmony is sweet without any of those extreme effects characterized as “barber shop.” An Irish number with bagpipe imitation effects made a closer that bull’s-eyed the east side clientele and brought them back for an encore. Headlined the show in the billing and on the stage. Good class musical turn for the best shows.
