Mr. Barnes has discarded his tramp make-up and appears as an eccentric character. Has a splendid line of material and pleased immensely. 21 Min. in One.
Monologist. A good line of stuff and went very well. 21 min. in one.
21 min. in one. Advance applause. A new line of stuff and certainly A1 all the way through. Original and full of humor. Held the interest of the audience for nearly a half hour, everything being well applauded as it well deserved. Went stronger than ever before in this house where he has long been a favorite.
14 min in one. Big advance applause. A bunch of new stories and some of his old favorites, an all of them got laughter and applause. Closed big as usual here where he is so well favorably known.
18 minutes in one. Tannen got a good advance hand, and again proved he is easily one of the best of monologists. Is big favorite here.
12 minutes in one. This new monologist did very well here to-day in a hard spot for a talking act. A little of his stuff is reminiscent, but he gets it over in very good shape. Held this spot as well as any talker we have had in some time. Would like to have an opportunity to put him further down on the bill, as I think he would in pretty far down. To-night good.
The Chesterfield of Minstrology. Never saw this old-timer go better than he did today. His material is entertaining, his parodies are timely and he walked away with the applause honors of the show and had to beg off in a neat speech. Olio in 1. Time 18 min.
25 minutes in one. This man is unquestionably clever but he is not by any means an Albert Whelan. He did altogether too much time this afternoon. Am cutting out several number to-night. It is without question one of the best concert turns that we have had, but his stuff, especially doing as much as he did this afternoon, is rather monotonous for vaudeville, and the holiday audience got a bit uneasy under it. However, he has a good act in one when it is cut down to vaudeville limitations. But I should not think of putting him much further down on the bill. To-night in 18 minutes he struck his gait.
