Nat Wills

On at 4:05, 21 minutes in 1. Wills was supposed to give his new monologue but this afternoon there was a movement in the audience at the close of Rajah’s act and he evidently got discouraged and started in on his old line of talk, the result being rather disappointing, as it has been here before so many times. While he did not make any kick, he was rather dissatisfied with his place on the bill following Rajah, but will do the new monologue tonight.

Phil Staats

Monologist and Pianologist. He scored a very strong and unmistakable hit, his talk and piano playing catching the attention of the audience throughout. Made an excellent finish and proved himself to be an entertainer of exceptional merit. 17 minutes, palace in 1.

Lew Hawkins

Mr. Hawkins dug down deep for a lot of the jokes that he is telling, many of them being so old that they were new to this generation. However, the older they were the better they went and inasmuch as Mr. Hawkins scored a hit I have no cause for complaint. 17 min. in one.

Barnes & Crawford

On at 2:31, 19 minutes full stage, close in 1. Barnes cut out all his blue stuff and made a rather slow opening, but towards the end he caught the audience in good shape and finished strong

James Harrigan

21 min. in one. Very funny line of talk, although a little too inclined to bid for applause. Laughter throughout, and a big close. The juggling part of the act only serves as an excuse.

A. O. Duncan

18 min. in two, closes in one. Always a favorite here. An amusing line of talk that kept the audience in good humor. Mostly new material and all up to his usual standard. Closed well.

“Noodoes” Fagan

Went big. Monologusit [sic] and comedy vrcalist [sic]. Songs and talk good for no end of laughs. One extemporaneous song a big hit. In one. Time 17 minutes.

Alfred Whelan

20 min. This man is a thorough artist and it is not so much what he does as the way he does it. Score well with each number and closed to a strong hand, leaving a most excellent impression upon the audience.

Senator” Ford

(12 mins.) A somewhat unusual monologist in his style of working and he has a very good line of material but whether it is because of his peculiar style he did not create much of a hit. His stuff is right up to date and got some laughs and he will probably improve.

Will Mahoney

23 min. A regular panic, one of the biggest hits ever made by a monologist here. He is a “Nut” comedian of a new type, with a lot of new stuff and his burlesque dancing created a veritable riot. One of the big hits of the entire bill and a surefire comedy hit for any bill.
