Shungopavi

Moki Indian in magic and a little talking. He has a very magnetic manner and with his broken English pleases the audience thoroughly. The magic end of it amounts to little. Because of its novelty it makes a good three a day act. He did 23 minutes today, I shall have the act cut down to 18.

Martini & Maxmillian

This act was good last year but fails this time because the audience once having seen the trick exposed know how they are done and the comedy element is lost. Had they given us a number of new tricks (were they ever so simple) the act would have been all right. As it is it is valueless for the above reasons. I wouldn’t want them again except with decided understanding that they had a number of new tricks. 18 min, open in three can close in one, 3 shows.

Adelaide Hermann

– Magic. A very pretty, dainty, taking act. She is not remarkably skillful but presents a number of novelties in artistic manner, concluding with her Aerial Suspension, which she calls “The Sleeping Beauty”. As it has not been found in any Vaudeville House, in my time should be rated as a novelty and the audience were quick to recognise it as such. 28 min. full stage, 2 shows

Annie Abbott

Whatever business the show draws us this week it will be more due to the act of this girls than to all of the other acts combined. Her act was certainly a marvelous one and gave great satisfaction. 22 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Annie Abbot

[Magician, possibly “The Little Georgia Magnet”?] 2 shows, 25 mins. full stage. Created just as much interest as at any time last week. She had a lively committee on the stage, who subjected her to unusual tests, but she “made good”. She is unquestionably drawing business and is worthy all the salary she is receiving.

Jansen-Herr Company

3 shows, 17 min, full stage. Magicians and illusionists. Man and woman, assisted by a stage hand, for whom they carry costume. From a 3-per-day viewpoint, it is a good act, though the young man attempts some ambitious feats may develop, which at the present time lack finish. It does not finish in 1. Cut a knock at the New York Journal, which he said passed in New York. We can not afford to antagonize any newspaper.

Howard Thurston

He carrys [sic] five assistants, tons of baggage, furnished a beautiful oriental setting, does feats of magic and levitation which were well received with very considerable interest and we regard the act worth the money.

Annie Abbott

2 shows, 25 min, full stage. Psychological marvel. The act is interesting and humorous by turns, and scored a bigger hit than any featured attraction we have had here for a long time. There is no question but that she will draw big business.

Leipzig

This young fellow is an exceptionally clever artist. I booked him under the impression that he was chiefly a coin manipulator, but he also uses cards and billiard balls in a far more effective manner than I ever recall seeing any other performer do. Some of his card tricks are really wonderful, and the same may be said of manipulation of billiard balls. It is a mighty clever act throughout. 16 minutes in one.

Sears

Magician. Palace 2 – own set- 17 min. Very likely magician of very clever appearance but lacking manly voice, satisfactory to most of his auditors. He will open shows for remainder of week and can pass very satisfactorily at that time. His duplication of tricks performed by Ching Ling Foo and Ten Ichi’s thumb tying trick enabled him to gain some applause.
