Leipzig

18 min. His routine of card tricks proved just as interesting and entertaining as they are mystifying. His offering went well and finished strong.

Al Barnes and Company

Al Barnes and Company opened the bill, the company being a woman in clown garb attempting comedy. Barnes went through a routine of magic tricks, the tricks being exposed by the woman, most of the conjuring easily detected by the audience before the tip-off. He has several good tricks and got a lot of good laughs, but his finish was weak and he walked off, the audience not knowing the act was over.

Fred M. Griffith

12 Mins.; One. Fred M. Griffith has evidently been playing in vaudeville for a long while, but has not been in New York in some time. He does magic, all palming, his best handling eight little red balls, holding them at one time in both hands. It is very good work, also the continual rolling of one of the balls between four fingers. Some trick matter with a handkerchief brings a little laugh. Griffith depends to a large extent upon his talk, nothing wildly funny, but humorous enough in a quiet way. His finish is the old business of informing something in the audience his future wife’s name. It was seemingly new to the Columbia audience Sunday.

Nate Leipzig

Nate Leipzig for his showmanship and skillful card manipulations received fine appreciation in third spot. His is among the few card stunts seen here capable of holding the internet continuously.

The Ricards

The Ricards held them fast in closing with some magic stunts that pleased, but were a shade less interesting than the shadowgraph work of the man.

Lampinis

[New Act] Comedy magic, 11 mins; full. Lampinis is assisted by a girl and for the greater part of the act tries for comedy through burlesquing mind reading, etc. His principal straight feature is the Herbert Brooks truck trick which is very well handled. This latter earned a hand for the act. It is a neat small time offering of its kind.

Hugh Johnson

Hugh Johnson followed, in sleight-of-hand. This is one of the few playing this time who can pull wise cracks and make folks like him. He was ably assisted by two youngsters who gave him enough help to put over his well-known egg tricks. Received rounds of applause.

Lester and Clicyo

Lester and Clicyo opened with some sleight-of-hand work and a bit of balancing on a wire. Even as early as that the male half of the team was complaining about those who paid to get in, it being audile halfway back and not helping any.
