Leipsic

Slight of hand performer, and an exceptionally good one. His manipulations of coins, cards and billiard balls are about as good as anything of the kind that we have had. I would prefer him to Nelson Downs who gets much more money. 13 min. in one, 3 shows.

Herrmann the Great

[Illusionist] Leon Herrmann, so-called Herrmann the Great, who is a nephew of Alexander Herrmann, made his first appearance at this house and was very received. He was greeted by two overwhelming audiences Monday. Nearly all of his tricks are old but he executes them with great dexterity. There is no question as to his drawing powers. 33 min. F.S.

Miss Annie Irish

SHR 2. Full stage, 20 mins. Making her debut in vaudeville in an idea from the French, “An Actress’ Christmas”. The act is part an illusion and part monologue, showing the one woman idea, entertaining friends in the imaginary. The offering is quiet, containing but a few laughs, although novel and dainty, it being rather deep for the Monday crowd and appeals to the better class.

Allan Shaw

HR 3. 3 shows, 14 mins. in one. Coin and card manipulator on the same style as T. Nelson Downes, and fully as good at a cheaper figure: although regret to say Mr. Shaw did not like his position on the bill and decided to cancel his engagement.

Fred Dunworth

3 shows, 14 min. in 1. This fellow has developed wonderfully since he played with us some years ago, and he is now as skillful a manipulator of cards and coins as anyone in the business. He certainly made good every time he appeared on stage here today.

Ten-Ichi & Troupe

In magical illusions. The opening of the act, the magical, by the young girl is simply repetition of what has been done by many three a day magicians here. The rope tying trick is very good and their water juggling at the finish is a great novelty. It is a very quiet act but while I think people liked it, it got very little applause. 28 minutes, 2 shows.

The Zancigs

Man and woman in their well known mind reading act. Received first advance applause of the day, showing that they were well remembered form their last visit. Had no difficulty in holding attention of the audience and received liberal applause at the finish. Very good act. 16 min. Olio in 1.

Aga

This is a levitation act which was well done and excited interested. Full stage.

Chunda Hula

In ‘The Dream of the Orient.’ Presents 4 illusions, each a capital one. The act can be considered good. Although, the only trouble is that he has no personality. He held the audience to the finish. It is one that will create a talk, therefore received very little applause on the finish. Have suggested a few changes which I think will improve the act, and make it a winner.

Dida

I think this act will draw money and to me it is the most mysterious thing in the way of illusions that I have ever seen. The ‘creation’ of the first woman leaves one a little disappointed but the second one adds material strength to the act and is bound to make talk. 11 min. full stage, 2 shows.
