10 minutes in one and two. Olio and palace drops. Boy and girl in songs and dancing, using grand piano in two. The boy is a clever character comedian. Closed very well with an imitation of Montgomery & Stone is Chinese dance. Could further down.
In “Dispossessed” – man and woman – comedy act with singing and piano playing; the wind-up of this act went great as there was a short talk about patriotism; special drop; 14 min.
A humorous musical. ARGUMENT ON Osculation. 8 girls, boy and a man; special setting, rose garden. Make a very neat appearance; rather long drawn out, but the finish went tremendous, eight curtains and great applause as two of the girls, when the rest were singing, came out one dressed as Uncle Sam and the other as Columbia. 23 min.
20 min. Comedy violinist. He got some laughs with his comedy violin numbers and worked up a very good applause finish with the assistance of a girl plant in the upper box. She sang two songs to a very good hand.
Five men and a woman; special set of a hospital ward – a musical comedy act; have four beds with a patient in each bed, and their sayings is a laugh all through; the wind-up is with a song and dance by the woman. 13 min. in full stage. Went good.
26 min. Assisted by Freddie Clinton at the piano. These two men have a corking good “nut” comedy act with songs and instrumental music, but a lot of talk is used which has no place in a first-class house. What makes it more objectionable is that it is not necessary, for they have an act that ought to score a big laughing hit anywhere.
Work in one. 16 min. Comedy offering with piano playing and singing and playing Hawaiian melodies on the string instrument. Went good.
22 min. This former musical comedy star was given a very cordial reception. She sang four numbers including a couple of imitations of well known stage celebrities and her song “So Long Mary,” which was a big hit. A piano-playing is used in the act and he introduced one number. The act was very well received and closed strong.
22 min. This couple has another high-class singing act in which they use a piano for two numbers and finish with a ukelele [sic] comedy song. It is an entirely new offering from what they have been formerly identified with and brought excellent results. Each of their numbers went very well and they finished strong.
25 min. These musical comedy stars have an excellent program of music and song numbers. Miss Bordoni also attracted a great deal of attention with her wonderful gowns. At the finish of a big round of applause in answer to repeated encores, Mr. Ellis made a curtain speech that was one of the best features of the act. Although handicapped by working with the first show without their scenery, which failed to arrive, they were given a very pretty house set and registered and emphatic hit.
