In “A Child Shall Lead Them.” 26 min f.s. A good comedy dramatic offering that got many big laughs and held the interest throughout. Good value.
“The Dippy, and Magician.” 14 min. in one. Van Hoven does no tricks, had all crazy stuff, and concludes with the assistance of two boys who travel with him, but apparently are dragged out of the alley. A tremendous laugh from beginning to end. (Cleveland)
16 minutes in one. Street. These German comedians have considerable new material, most of it dealing with the Presidential campaign. Went over big to-night in this spot, getting many laughs and finishing strong.
12 min. F.S. Man works eccentric and the woman as soubrette. Both of them are very clever ground tumblers. Introduces considerable comedy and the man’s falls are particularly humorous. The final stunt with the four tables and chair and the big fall close the act very well.
In “The Late Mr. Allen.” Three women, one man. A very good comedy skit, with a moral tab as a good lesson. The act found immediate favor, gaining undivided attention. Abundant laughs and a very good finish. Thoroughly satisfactory. C.D.F. in 3, 25 minutes. (Louisville)
In “Odd nonsense.” 23 minutes in one. Street. This act should not be confused with the Mullen of the old Mullen and Corelli act. Two men, working in evening dress, in songs and talk. This is one crackerjack act. They open with a “souse” song, introduce some clever dancing, and a very funny line of talk, as well as several original songs. Had the audience laughing every minute they were on the stage, and closed big at both performances.
Three men in a comedy called, “The Burglar’s Union.” One of the men works in black face. They work in one for about ten minutes with a good line of witty talk that secures the laughs, then to full stage. The latter part lightens up a little, but they manage to secure a good round of applause. I doubt if it could be played further down than four in the big houses. Thirteen minutes, open in one for about ten minutes.
6 min. – A very showy balancing act and went fine in this closing position of this bill. Tricks out of the usual run and well done.
(15 mins.) As big a laughing hit as usual. Have some new talk, which got good results. Went fine in this spot, closing strong.
his comedy got a lot of laughs. Closed strong.
