Whitfield-Ireland Co.

20 minutes (2) Special drop. 1 lady. 2 men. Very good offering the comedy causing uproarious laughter from beginning to end. Their special drop with its quaintly humorous advertising proved a riot, the audience “getting” it immediately, and enjoying it immensely. The entire act is a sweeping success.

Charley Grapewin & Co.

Presenting the little farce comedy, “Poughkeepsie.” 14 min. Grapewin has introduced many new laughs since he first tried this act out here two years ago and now has a sure-fire comedy vehicle. Kept the audience in a roar for the fourteen minutes of which he was on. Received an advance hand and a strong close.

Julie Ring & Co.

In “Twice a Week.” I will have to say that this act fared very poorly indeed. Is a great disappointment. I don’t know where all the laughs are I have been told about; certainly didn’t get them today. 20 mins, F.S.

Wilmer Walter and Co.

In “The Late Van Camp.” 15 minutes f.s. Dark tapestry. This act played the ten-cent house across the street about a year ago. While it deals with a rather gruesome subject: the laying dead of a husband in order to test the fidelity of his wife: it got quite a number of laughs and closed well.

The Sharrocks Mind Readers

The comedy opening of this act gets the audience in good humor for the mind reading. This portion of the act also containing a little comedy that went very well indeed. 20 mins. In one.

Taylor Granville, Laura Pierpont and Co.

In “The Yellow Stream.” 36 minutes f.s. Four scenes. Special sets. It has been some time since we have played an act of this type. This one went over first-rate to-day at both performances. Has some good comedy, held the interest all through, and the fight in the last scene brought them a strong close.

Joe Case

Charater [sic] comedian, 11 minutes (1). Fair act, his character delineations combines with dialect at times quite funny, causes considerable laughter, and he is the only one on the bill who gets anything like recognition.

Gertrude Hoffmann

In “Sumurun.” 62 min. This is undoubtedly the most magnificent production and the most pretentious offering vaudeville has ever had. Although a condensed version, Max Reinhardt’s wordless playlet is given in almost compete detail, wonderfully staged and splendidly acted by Miss Hoffmann and her big company. The act ran for more than an hour and held the strictest attention throughout and although not a great applause winner, is an unmistaken triumph as a vaudeville feature.

Pielert & Scofield

12 min. Man and woman in a comedy juggling act. Man does a good routine of tricks and the woman introduces a lot of lively chatter which got some laughs. Act was very well liked and made a satisfactory opener.

Lester Mason

‘The Janitor.” 13 minutes in one. Special drop. This man has a very good line of original material, and he kept the audience laughing constantly. Closed well.
