27 min. This comedy couple was a tremendous applause hit, despite the fact that they have been seen here very often. A lot of new comedy talk and business brightens their offering and they are carrying two new drops, one of which is used for a new song. From the time they first come on until they finished, they had the audience in an uproar of laughter and applause. The act registered the biggest hit that has been put over in the next-to-closing position in a long time, winning several extra bows.

Laura Hope Crews & Co.

27 min. Supported by a company of five in “Her Husband’s Wife.” This sketch is a condensation of the comedy in which Miss Crews and Henry Miller starred in the legitimate. It is a clever comedy and splendidly played, with plenty of action and good comedy scenes. It pleased the audience throughout and was rewarded with a liberal hand.

Wm. Gaxton & Co.

17 min. “A Regular Business Man.” This is the one-act comedy used by Henry Woodruff and later Douglas Fairbanks in vaudeville. It is one of the best comedies ever presented in vaudeville. Gaxton & Company get plenty of laughs out of it and they finished to a big hand of applause.

Charles E. Evans & Co.

Match” fame is offering a new farce called “The Forgotten Combination.” It is along the lines of the pieces Evans appeared in many years ago, full of action and laughs and it kept the audience amused from start to finish.

Allen & Howard

19 min. The latter was formerly of Howard & North. The new act called “A Real Pal” is a cross-fire talking skit with a special set. A girl is used for one bit of comedy talk. There is a well handled finish with a laugh at the curtain and the act was very well liked.

Inhoff, Conn & Corrine

“Surgeon Louder, U.S.A. Military Comedy. Two men and woman. This act played here within the last year. But nevertheless is going great. Full of laughs all through. The audience seems to enjoy this act as well as any that has been here lately. 26 minutes. Full stage.

The Three Lyres

“Tinkling Tunes to Tickle the Taste if the Tired Theatre Goer.” Three: Present a good musical act with abundance of comedy. The comedy is principally furnished by a clever black face comedian. Went big at matinee. 16 minutes –full stage.

Lew Dockstader

15 minutes in one. Street. Doing the same act, word for word and line for line, that he gave us on his last visit. The audiences to-day did not laugh at some of the jokes that went big on his previous visit. Considering that he followed Miss Franklin, and had a hard spot, Dockstader went over in very good shape.

Ketchen & Cheatem

13 min. Two men and a woman in a real comedy novelty, one of the men working from the audience and later going upon the stage to take part in the dialogue and singing. It is a surprise act and kept the audience amused at the start, but closed to a light hand.

Hermann & Shirley

13 min. “The Mysterious Masquerader.” A very good comedy novelty act by a man and woman. Man is an unusual contortionist and goes through a routine of remarkable stunts during the action of the skit. Did very well in the opening spot.
