Jimmie Lucas and Co.

17 minutes in one. Lucas works as a “nut.” His act is full of pep and ginger, and he is assisted by a pianist. Woke things up in great shape. As a finish, Lucas introduces a plant in a box, dressed as a C.A.R. veteran with white whiskers, who sings “What King of an American are YOU?” and puts over a big applause hit. A lively act that got over in good shape.

Bensee & Baird

20 min. With about the same act they used here before with the addition of a couple of new comedy songs, this pair repeated the big hit they made on their former visit. They got plenty of laughs and finished to strong hand.

Joseph E. Howard & Ethelyn Clark

15 min. They are doing about the same act that Mr. Howard did Mabel McCane last season opening with some comedy talk that got fait amount of laughs and finishing with a repertoire of Mr. Howard’s most popular songs. The act made a very good impression and finished to a big hand.

Thornton & Thornton

Man and woman – in “Her New Hat” – a comedy talking and singing act; this act went rather slow at first, but the windup an Italian song, went over good, as they carried a dog in their arms and as they sang the dog howled, this amused the audience greatly. 14 min in one.

Thornton & Thornton

Man and woman work in one. 14 min. Comedy talk and songs. The act gets away to a good finish by the use of a dog which crys [sic] while they sing. Orther [sic] ways the act would go very badly.

Four Marx Bros.

41 min. “Home Again.” In the closing position of a late show and following a lot of singing and comedy, this act was one of the biggest laughing and applause hits we have had in the house in a long time. There is a little bit of everything crowded into their offering and every bit of it scored solidly with our audience. A sure-fire comedy hit for any bill.

Edmunds & Leadem

Man and woman in one. 16 min. Comedy skit with one song. This is one of the best comedy acts we have ever played one continuous laugh from start to finish. Woman works straight while man does Italian. Hit.

Town Hall Follies

Presented by Eugene Emmett & Co. Four girls four men. Special set full stage act runs 33 min. Good line of comedy and a good singing [sic] offering all having good voices. Went over big.

Bert Lamont’s Singing Cowboys

27 minutes f.s. Special set. A very slow, long drawn out affair, with some of the worst comedy we have had in many a day. The singing is good, and the setting attractive, but the comedy did not get over at all. The act is so long that it slowed up the show.

Boothby & Everdean

17 min. A comedy singing number in which the woman does the singing, the man accompanying her at the piano. A “movie” bit and a burlesque song-sheet number are featured and brought the act warm recognition. Finished very well.
