25 min. full stage. Comedy, singing and dancing act. First time here for this family in more than 3 years. They no [sic] show no improvement and are no worse than before. It is a pleasing bit of entertainment for the early part of the show.
10 mins. In one. Neatly dressed woman, who endeavors to entertain with parody singing and stories. Personally, I couldn’t laugh at the comedy; but the audience seemed to think it was good. Went well.
2 shows, 13 min. in 1. Singing comedian and poor one at that. If she does not turn out better on the second show than she did on the first, it will be no harm to cancel her. We do not consider her worth the cut down price she is getting.
16 min. opens in 1, then to his own drop in 2. Sings songs and tells gags made up as a tramp. Has good voice and fairly good material; then to his church scene, where he does recitation leading up to “New Born King”. His wife scene in church in white robes singing. Act goes well and is something of a novelty.
14 minutes. All in one. This act is a positive imposition, as outside of a music hall it should not be allowed to go on the stage. I don’t believe they please even the people who laugh at them. Being women, I don’t care to express my opinion as to what they look like. I don’t believe they should be considered at any price.
17 minutes, full stage, closing in one. Man and woman. This is their second appearance here, and it is really surprising how much the act had developed in the past year. After opening the show Monday, we changed them to fourth on the bill. The man has developed into a fairly good comedian. Act is called “A Bunch of Nonsense” and that about expresses it, as there is a little singing, a little crazy cross-fire talk, some travesty and a recitation by the man entirely made up of play titles.
Tramp Comedian. Has one or two new songs and some bright talk which he delivers in good style and while the audience does not get enthusiastic over his act, he succeeds in holding them very well. 17 minutes in one.
Comic singer. Very nice act. Would have gone strong if I could have put him on one half or three quarters of an hour earlier. Went very well with the audience, however. 14 minutes in one. 2 shows.
3 shows . 9 Minutes in one . This girl makes up on her first appearance in a sort of Sis Hopkins make-up, and tells some jokes and stories in the bashful fashion made familiar by Miss Melville. Some of it is good, but on the whole it can only be classed as fair. She then changes to soubrette and sings a song, and finishes with a scarecrow song and dance a la Louise Montrose, but not nearly so clever as the latter. The whole act can only be considered fair.
Dutch comedian and soubrette. This act just escapes being bad. His material is all very old and at best the turn may be classed as fair. Open in three close in one, 17 minutes. 3 shows.
