Dances, 10 minutes. Full stage, special set. Good act, the comedy element being much in evidence and their burlesque on the modern dances provided plenty of laughter. It is easily one of the finest dancing turns seen here for a long time past.
Minstrel bits, 3 men, 10 minutes (1) Special drop. Singing is inclined to be rather ordinary, but they do one capital dance which makes a good impression. There was a noticeable absence of the laugh-compelling comedy that would be expected in an offering of this kind, and the act on the whole is below the average set by most feature turns here.
15 minutes, full stage, one lady, two men. The ‘straight’ cycle work by one of the men is just ordinary. The lady dances skillfully, and possesses a wardrobe wondrously attractive, but it is through the work of the comedian that the act scores its big success. This man is very funny, and his comedy cycling has never surpassed here. He created an uproar of laughter and he is unquestionably the prop upon which the entire affair leans.
15 min. After opening with some comedy talk, a song and a bit of dancing which went very well, they put over a big sized hit with their “Burlesque Movies,” a travesty on the moving picture craze which kept the audience in a roar of laughter and took the act off to a big hand of applause.
In “Green Goods.” Special drops in two. A good comedy talking in a circus scene, with Stone as a rube. Close with two songs and a dance. A very good comedy act in one.
14 min. Miss Vanderbilt shows a wonderful improvement as an artist since the last time she played here and back with that clever comedian, George Moore, they presented a sure-fire number consisting mainly of songs interspersed with good dancing and clever patter. Very much liked this afternoon.
16 min. In an Irish comedy playlet called “A Friendly Call.” Mr. Mack was formerly of Callahan & Mack and his present vehicle is a new offering. He does a bagpipe specialty and there is bit of dancing by the girl which made hit. Act won a fair amount of applause.
20 min. in one. This act is full of the characteristic humor of two men who are well known on the circuit. The hits were appreciated and got laughter. The act held the spot in good shape. Closed well.
17 minutes in two. Special drop. A very neat man and woman act, with good comedy, several original songs, and clever dancing. Scene is laid in a hotel corridor at night, and adds just a touch of novelty to the act. Got a number of laughs and closed well.
Two men and two women in the comedy satire, “The Dancing Missionary.” Scene a jungle, on a cannibal island. Missionary finds the tribe is presided overby [sic] a white woman as queen. The cannibals intend to kill the missionary when the queen saves him. He gets in to her favor by dancing. His dances also win the cannibals and the act closes with the missionary, queen and cannibals all dancing together. Terry’s dancing is the only feature of the act. F.S. special scenery, 17 min in one 3 min. time of act 20 min.
