The Harpers

A man and woman (colored), and I think they are about the liveliest colored team that we have played. They are both exceptionally clever dancers, and the man has a very funny personality that made a big hit this afternoon, and I have given them a better place on the bill. 11 minutes in one.

Beeson, Ferguson and Beeson

15 min. open full stage, close in 1 – Two men and a woman, in a comedy, singing and dancing sketch. The act is pretty slow up to the point where they begin to dance, after which it goes quite strong, as all the members of the trio are good dancers. Makes a fair opening act.

Armstrong and Holly

A man and woman in a comedy and dance act. The man is one of the original Armstrong Brothers, and, while he is not a very strong comedian, he works with considerable unction and manages to get considerable out of his line. The woman does not have much of anything to do except to feed him. She is fairly good looking and dresses neatly, and the act can be classed as a fair one. 20 minutes full stage; could close in one if necessary.

Empire City Quartette

Four men in a comedy act and dancing act. The vocal end of the act is clearly all right, all of them being good singers; two of the men are pretty fair comedians, the other two are simply sticks so far as comedy is concerned. It will compare favorably with singing quartette, but it is hardly deserving the place in the bill which I am obliged to give it. 17 minutes in one. GYH.

Conroy and McDonald

Two men in a comedy talking and fancing [sic] act. These people have changed their act around considerably since I saw them last, and they have really got a very entertaining novelty. They did not show up to the best possible advantage this afternoon on account of the difficult place in the bill, but I think will make a big hit tonight. Conroy is a funny Irishman and McDonald makes an exceedingly good foil, besides doing some clever dancing. 14 minutes in one.

The Three Mortons

Sam, Clara, and Paul. This is without question the best and most thoroughly satisfying act in vaudeville today. Sam Morton is a good Irish comedian, Clara is as neat and dainty as ever she was, which is saying all that could possibly be said, and Paul is a clever dancer and a thorough painstaking artist. The act made a big hit and is bound to do it at any time and under any circumstances. The open with about 8 or 9 minutes in one, and close with a full stage. 28 minutes.

Pen Pierce and Lee Ryan

Street in one. 14 minutes in “D’yer Wanna Fight”. Two men, young and old man type. Some good dancing and clowning particularly by the elder.

Ray & Emma Dean

16 minutes in one. They shared honors with Renee Robert and also made an unqualified hit. Due probably to the exceedingly funny character work by the man who also did some clever dancing at the finish.

Redmond and Wells

Man and woman. Special in one. 13 minutes. Man a good dancer, too bad he doesn’t do more of it. Fair act.

Will & Gladys Ahern

10 min, in “One” Spec. Roping and comedy talk, with a little dancing. Went nicely in this spot.
